How an earth did this thread get so many posts?! I managed to get down there (after getting lost haha)... and who did I see... NACHO! I got a photo  I'll post it in his pictures thread And people that worked there kept asking if i was going and i was like no  And then after everyone had gone in the doors were still open and the woman asked if we were big fans... so i said i was and she let me in!!!!!! I freaking love this woman right now! It was so god damn amazing, i actually think i'm in heaven I nearly cried at Use Somebody! And Revelry.... (L) Sarah! That is amazing! Go you! Karma!  |

Hey hey, well what can I say about last night? It was just BRILLIANT!!!!!! Firstlly, well done Sarah on getting in! How cool is that!! I bet it was worth the travelling and the loitering outside! Where abouts did you stand? We were stood on Jared's side right where the speaker was on the stand and I managed to have a perfect view even though we were technically on the second row. Well, we got there about 7.35 and everyone was queing as we weren't allowed in yet. Some guy from the radio was interviewing people in the queue about what they were expecting from the night and what they wanted kol to play. Then security came out and they went down the line and spoke to everyone individually and basically said that the band had requested that absolutely no photos or recording devices were allowed at all. If we had them on us we had to keep them in our bags. We were told that if we were seen even just taking a camera out of our bags then we would be ejected from the premisis! That's why you wouldn't have seen anyone taking photos Sarah! So unfortunately I couldn't take any photos which is gutting because they would have been brilliant but once we were in there we could understand how annoying and off putting if people were constantly camera flashing in their faces through the set. So then security said we weren't allowed to use the toilets when we went in cos there was only one and the band were sat right next to it! Security said if we neeeded the toilet during their set then we had to be escorted to the toilet lol!! So about 7.50 we were allowed in and who is the first person I see as we walk into the studio...Nacho!! He was fiddling about with Matt's guitar pedals. The band were in a little room off the room we were in and we couldn't see them. Zane played a couple more songs for the radio and then introduced kol and they came out. Jared and Matt have definately not bleached/dyed their hair altho they have both had it cut a la the Sooners video! I though Jared's hair was looking rather Johnny Bravo-esque...it was massive!! He does look very very different though. And he didn't do any mad head shaking during the gig - maybe it's cos he hasn't got the hair for it now! The set was just brilliant. We were all just stood right in front of the band. There was no stage or anything. Matt did some funky little dance during Sex on Fire and Caleb was strutting and swaying during some of the songs. They were constantly hand gesturing and mouthing to each other and to the producers so as not to be heard on the radio lol! Caleb was always asking how long they had left - i don't think he realised there was a massive clock on the wall behind him! In between songs Caleb would call Matt and Jared over and they would huddle for 5 seconds to discuss what song was next. After Crawl they were having a big discussion about what to play next. Caleb goes "shall we play some extras?" and Jared goes "you are live on the air" so Caleb says "shall we play On Call?" and Jared goes "NO, NO! " (very sternly!!). Maybe Jared doesn't like that song?! Then that guy yelled "black nail" and Jared goes "yeah we'll play Manhattan, Black Thumbnail then Knocked Up " but Caleb goes "we need to practice that" so then they all go back to their respective positions to start playing and Nathan yells "Wait! What song are we playing then?" and Jared goes "It's Manhattan next!" It was rather funny! Use Somebody sounded incredible...it was so moving I nearly cried! Which is exactly what I didnt want to do when I was in full view of the band! We were so close we just kept catching eye contact all the time and Jared kept smiling when I caught his eye which just made me realise how up close and intimate this night really was. We were just so close to them it was surreal! Jared has really piercing eyes when he look at you. Jared was singing the "oh-way-oh" bits during Use Somebody. Matt was mouthing them but he wasn't anywhere near the microphone so I don't know who will sing that bit on the album because it seemed to be Matt recording that bit on the home video?! Jared pulled the most hilarious faces when he was singing that bit tho - he looked like he was in huge amounts of pain! Whenever Caleb sang during the song he would close his eyes...it was just beautiful! Crawl sounded epic live aswell! During Knocked Up Zane was mouthing to Jared how long they had left and Jared mouths "we have two more songs" and then Zane must have mouthed something back because Jared mouths "we're not going to stop" with a smirk and then proceeded to pull "so what you going to do about it?" faces (jokingly) to Zane ha ha! Then after they had finished Knocked Up Jared goes "do you want Charmer?" which of course everyone cheered for so they launched into it before finishing with Revelry which sounded damn good. I cannot wat for this album, the songs they played last night were just brilliant. It was especially nice to finally hear the full version of Use Somebody and to hear Revelry. After they finished they waved bye at everyone and then they went off into the little room again where no-one could see them. They didn't play any extra or come out again After their set everything started to get packed away pretty sharpish. Nacho was giving out Caleb's guitar picks and I got one and I said "thanks Nacho" to him and his head shot right round to look at me and he just stared at me as if to say 'how do you know my name?' which was a bit strange!! Anyway we were about to leave when I saw Nacho tidying Matt's pedals away so i thought i really want a photo and i may never get this chance again but i really didnt want to bother him cos he looked really busy. My brother was like 'if you want a photo just go and ask him' and I get really embarrassed about stuff like this so my brother was like 'right' and just strolls right up to him and goes "excuse me, would you mind if my sister has a picture with you?" and he goes "yeah no problem!" His accent sounded really southern but maybe it's cos i'm not used to it! We told him that the set was great and he said he would tell the boys! Anyway, i have droned on enough...i have a couple of photos of insde the studio after kol left (we were allowed cameras out then!) and one of me and nacho but they are only on my camera phone. Does anyone know how I post photos from my photobucket account on here? As for the crowd, it didn't even seem like there was 100 people there? There were a few Radio 1 dj's there aswell. Most people seemed to be really into it but I seemed to be the only one that spazzed out when they started to play Use Somebody - no-one else really seemed that fussed or like they had ever heard any of it before. The same during Knocked Up. I was ready for a great big singalong but me and my bro seemed to be the ony ones singing...well on our side anyway! But then if 50 peope had won 2 tickets, the person they had brought along with them might not be die hard kings fans so in effect it may only be 50 fans of kol there? Just a thought anyway! And also, no-one else seemed to know who Nacho was. They were probably wondering why I was having my photo taken with one of their roadies ha ha! Just for the record, the boys weren't drinking any alcohol during the gig. Jared was drinking Red Bull and Matt, Caleb and Nathan were drinking water! |

I was so shocked when Nacho came out when I saw him, NO ONE went up to him! I was like are you kidding me? The man is a freaking legend! If you're a fan of KOL you should be a fan of his to be honest!
And i was about 6/7 people back and i had really tall people infront of me. And none of them seemed to be overly into it, they should have let me stand where they were haha.
Ooh and i was halfway between Caleb and Jared (if that makes sense)
I was tempted to wait around after their set but i didn't really wanna miss my tube so i just left, i kinda guessed they wouldn't come out and whatnot.
And, i loved their little discussions! I thought they were so cute, not in a patronising way or anything, just to see them huddled together and you could hear them talking!
I don't know how i didn't cry. It didn't really hit in til this morning because i had no time to prepare for it or anything. I feel like i was dreaming!
And i have to admit, it didn't feel like 100 people to me either.. more like 50/60
Also what were you wearing?!
Because i was outside from just before 7 onwards so you must have come past me?!
