I completely agree. It does seem like a very dark album, which kind of appeals to me. But I loved BOTT too and that album was kind of shiny, day-driving album for me. I guess I'm just a push over for this band.

sounds a bit boring to me, so far 4 out of the 5 new kol songs i've heard some of seem quite... pappy, for want of a better word.

I guess for 3 of these songs we can all still be swayed in the opposite direction though as we haven't heard a studio version of Manhattan, a full version of Closer or a full version of Use Somebody.

Personally I love them all so far but who knows, maybe I'll hate them when I hear the album in full. (unlikely though lol)

Same for those who currently feel uninspired by the tracks, once y'all hear the full versions, you could love them...

Strange - I first heard Crawl, and I thought it was fantastic, then I heard Manhattan and thought it just could'nt get any better... Then, I heard Sex on Fire, which I thought was the best new song so far....... Until I heard the clip of Closer and the hairs on my arms just stood up - Loved the vibe, the vocals the tone............ my favorite so far, again, although didn't think it could get any better!!! Bring on the 22nd (or hopefully the 19th, as I hear it'll be here in Ireland...)

Love the "initial Q Mag Closer clip", as duely noted, with every new song we hear, the more creatively dark the boys seem to becoming! By the way, any update on where the hell we can hear this "supposed XFM clip of Closer"? From my searching around, it appears to be some ploy, but I could be wrong. Any update would be appreciated with the expected audio rip IF it is legit! Cheerios!

Quick update, just got a little clarification from one of the listeners on Last.FM, apparently it is INDEED the full album version. But still haven't gotten it for myself to hear, but I would expect since there are more than 10 listeners whom got it, it should leech it's way onto the net sooner or later. Still waiting to find out if it was put out in a single CDS/CDM OR a Only By The Night media album promo. Stay tuned!

I just created an account cos I thought, well if the full version of Closer is on there, I'm gonna listen to it!

But it was not to be...

I can add the song to my library but I can't play it, anyone know why?


Are you supposed to build up a rep or something before you can listen to 'early releases'?

Well, there ISN'T a playable full version of "Closer" on Last.FM, at least for the time being, you can't sometimes listen to ALL the songs listed that were listened too, until they are open to be heard. Funny thing is the listener I got a PM reply back from was a "music editor" (Didn't go into more detail), so I'm guessing, from my earlier thoughts, that either a "Closer" CDS promo OR an "Only By The Night" album promo is starting to make their rounds to all the music press. Will let you know more when I hear it! Cheerios!
