Wasn't really sure what to call this thread, hence the not very catchy title! And please can Black Jeans or Comatose move it if it's in the wrong place! Last weekend I was talking to a mutual friend about the brixton gig (he didn't go but knew I had) and kol in general. He only has BOTT and doesn't know it very well, and apart from that is only familiar with the singles before. I said I could send him the other albums etc but he suggested instead that I could list the stand out tracks from BOTT and then send 2 youtube links for other good tracks (but not singles) - IMPOSSIBLE! I thought about just listing all of BOTT but thought I should at least try picking the best, four maybe, or perhaps five. Then as for another 2, I just can't choose! Perhaps trani and then one from ASH? So could you guys help me with what you'd suggest Stand out tracks from BOTT and 2 youtube links to other great ones that aren't singles! Thanks!!

My tand outs from BOTT - Arizona, Ragoo, True Love Way, Knocked Up.
Depending on his music taste I'd go for Milk/Trani (if he can appreciate a good 'slow' track straight away) or Joe's Head/Taper Jean (if he's more into the fast paced rocky types).

i thin that if he is not a kol fan the best song to convert him are arizona, fans, knocked up and charmer or mcfearless.

The video of Fans from Reading really wowed me. And definitely the Trani from Bonnaroo 2004. Or maybe Razz from T in the Park 04? Sorry i'm too lazy to link!

This is impossible, to know KOL you need to know where they have evolved from and listening to BOTT is not gonna do that, you need to tell him to listen to the first 2 albums cause believe me once he has heard them there is no going back!

Cant force someone to like anything,Music is very much about what the songs mean to you and how they relate to your life,in my oppinion. If I was to recomend anything I would say get your friend to listen to Youth and young manhood if theyre willing. If theres any hope at all that should catch their attention.=] Good luck anyway.
P.s. Mollys chambers,Red morning light and O' dusty are a good way to go.

I know! He's really into music but kol probably aren't his usual stuff but he's keen to get to know more of it but obviously feels like setting me a challenge - which is good i guess, it's so easy to say yeah they're great, all albums and everything without thinking about it that much! And don't worry about linking, suggestions are great!

Don't do Knocked Up...that's not an easy song to fall for if you haven't been listening to KOL before BOTT.
What got me was Red Morning Light. The music video.
What are his favorite bands/type of music? Find songs that relate then he's hooked! I loved YAYM and hated ASH when I was a new fan...his vocals on ASH might be too much of a kick in the ass!
So: Red Morning Light Trani King of the Rodeo Ragoo On Call (if he's into mainstream shit)

My Favs From BOTT:
Arizona True Love Way My Party Knocked Up ..........and every other song from that album! :-D
mmmmmm then Taper Jean Girl or Pistol of Fire from aha shake.
Then hows about Joe's Head or Red Morning Light from YAYM??
This is really really hard!
I think Trani and Milk are much much better live if your not a KOL fan so maybe show him them on youtube.
