Agreed. That is insane that BDO doesnt sell out in Perth. I've gotten my tickets to BDO the last 2 years through the ballot. Thank god for that because it is just way too hectic to get them in the actual sale. I'll be interested to see how quickly they sell out this year.

GARGH! I hate hearing this "inside word" stuff! (no offence...it's not you, it's MY confusion and indecisiveness) Man, I really don't know what to do, all my friends are pestering me to go to BDO but i've been hanging out for an official kol announcement. And now that supposedly KOL may be on the line up it'll sweeten the deal.... .....but still if they were going to do side shows then i'd rather see them in their own concert.
When will the second line up be announced? And when do tickets go on sale?

you know whats annoying - when KOL came to Oz last time they said they would be announcing shows, and then announced them!! what is taking you boys so long?!?!!!
come onnn!! haha
annie - i don't think im gonna go to BDO. i mean, for me anyway, the lineup is quite mediocre, although, festivals are honestly fun regardless. but seeing as kol are coming down under anyway (or so they say haha!) i am just gonna save my pennies and go to both sydney shows (coz i assume they will do two again).. i dunno, i would rather see em at a venue, as opposed to a hugeeeeee bdo set. where i wont see anything. tehe u can tell i wait 8hrs in line at venues to be front row eh? : )

hey rosey, even though you were talking to annie, i'm eavesdropping. You make a good point about BDO vs their own show. I just hope they don't pull out a big arena tour. Do you think they would?? Because it would make me cry. It'd be awesome if they just played in the same venues, just more shows.
You better read this boys...you wouldn't want to make Sonia cry now would you? No? Good. Now hurry up and make something official. I'm hearing too many rumours.

Everytime I look in this thread I hope there actually will be some good news for the Aussies but alas it is just more speculation about how difficult the tickets will be to obtain. Eek. Thats not really good news at all.

ok so i was talking to my friend and her boyfriend about why BDO sells out over east and not in perth its a culminaton (of a story and a gooodbye session.. no)? of the fact that our population is smaller, and our venue is massive and perth has more tickets released and rosie yeh fair call. i'l go to BDO tho i like quite a few of the bands, and don't forget last year Bjork and Rage didn't get announced til the 2nd announcement, so their's so makor acts still to come! (cmonnn KOL )

I wish they would just hurry up and make a damn announcement already!! WHY THE SUSPENSE KINGS...we've all worked out your coming its no surprise!! I've got his feeling too they are going to do a Arena tour....too many random peeps are in love with OBTN...i swear all these friends of mine on Facebook are joining up to KOLS 'group' page, and all their comments are like 'oohhh SOF is such a hot song yayyyy i love them!' it makes me so MAD for 2 reasons...i) These are the people that will end up getting all the freaking tickets and they will only be there for SOF etc!!ii) they wont ever appreciate the true KOL as most of them think pre OBTN is crap (oh the humanity!!) There is no way they will do another Horden gig, i reckon for Syd it will be Acer Arena NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO the Horden rocks...Acer Arena is too impersonal how can you rock out in your seat???

^^ yeh karma holly golightly! expressed my opinions exactly! i have NO idea where they will play in perth, they've played here twice once supporting pearl jam so that was in a stadium, because pearl jam is massive and once in 2004 in a tiny club like 5 mins away from my house (alas, i was 12 at the time and had never heard of them ) and when they came in January, they played a festival called Southbound about 3 hours from perth. but now their so big and doing arena tours, perth has no place for them to play! their not big enough to do stadiums in perth, but too big for a club, hmmmm?

I hope they don't play BDO, I don't want to go!! The current line-up release is crap I don't want to see (mostly) and I can't be bothered with all the annoying people there. I'm gunning for a February tour. And TOTALLY agree that we need at least a Hordern gig. I don't want to do Acer. Not sure I want to sit next to some 13 year old and her chaperone mum.
Although I'm being a little unfair, my first gig was the Foo Fighters on my 16th birthday (seems an age ago now!) and the underager's had to sit upstairs away from the grog and it was still rocking.
If they play BDO I might road trip it over to Perth and catch up with the rels at the same time.
Hmmmm.....

yeah for them to play acer would be a bad idea i think maybe in an albums time.
im hoping they do get announced for BDO that was i could see them potentially three times provided they do 2 side shows.

this is part of an interview I just read with matthew “We love going to Australia and we all talk about it. I’ve already asked our manager a couple of times when we’re going, so he’s said it will be some time around March. If the Big Day Out made us an offer I’m sure we would [play again] – it would be awesome and it’s great. I can’t imagine us headlining - that’s a little bit far-fetched. It would be a blast though and I would not complain by any means.” good news but I though they would be here in january on their own tour

SO TRUE! when i went to FF at Acer i was in seating and got told to "shuttup" cause i was singing. i wont ramble about it, but i don't like acer. powderfinger and silverchair is understandable - they had to do it at acer cause it was double. it was an okay concert i spose. and FF was decent too, cause grohl interacts with the concert goers lol " 13 year old and her chaperone mum." mannn i REALLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY want it to be at horden - its so much more personal and i farking LOVE that venue. i would due if its at acer. and dammit im sick of these SOF addicts who are gonna hog all the tickets. oh man - sussannah that idea about perth is such a good one! i could totally crash at my brother's (future) in laws home. plus perth BDO would be so awesome cause it would be emptier. wow this is really intense i can't wait anylonger KOL TOUR MANAGER: IF YOU'RE READING THIS, JUST BOOK TWO HORDEN SHOWS..OKAY?!?!!
