Here it is. Thank you for your e-mail regarding our coverage of Glastonbury 2008. I understand you have concerns that there wasn't enough time dedicated to Kings of Leon performances and that this was affected by pre-recorded performances of other bands. Whilst we aim to provide extensive television, radio and online coverage, the BBC's resources are finite meaning we cannot cover every single act appearing at the festival. We therefore have to make editorial decisions as to what to cover for the benefit of all audiences. We're sorry if you feel that Kings of Leon weren't afforded enough time in our coverage. Please be assured that I've registered your complaint on our audience log. This is a daily report of audience feedback that's circulated to BBC staff, including members of the BBC Executive Board, channel controllers and other senior managers. In the meantime, some performers have made audio or video clips available on their own official websites so do check online. You may also be interested in our own website which contains clips of performances: www.bbc.co.uk/glastonbury/Thank you again for taking the time to contact us. Regards Paul Kettle BBC Complaints This still angers me as they still fail to see the main point of the argument. Kings of Leon were headlining show they should show the full set. He goes on about need to give the audience what they want by showing other bands as well as Kings Of Leon. Thats complete rubbish, why did they show all of Jay Z and The Verve, and every other headliners of Glastonbury in previous years!

Omg i was also pissed off with BBC. I reckon they did it because they played their new songs when asked not too. I thought that was a load of shit. What is the problem anyway, Jeez I hate BBC. They played all of Jay-Z, so unfair.

that's a shit excuse, if they've used it cause they could have just cut those two songs out. over the past couple of years, as far as i can recall they've shown a headline set for longer than 30mins, pretty much all. and some band doing what they've been told not to do, pissing the bbc off that much, oh please, they've been around, i'm sure it didn't upset them that much. they should have shown as much as they could, which i'm pretty sure is longer than 30mins. they're a headline act at the end of the day, it's just a piss take thinking their audience wouldn't be interested. glastonbury is versatile, it makes good sense to show as much of everything as possible but cutting short on a headline act, nah it don't wash. they fucked up and they'll learn to pay.

Its just a whole load of crap, how can they justify showing songs from Jimmy Cliff in between KOL then giving Jimmy Cliff his own hour on BBC4?? showing the whole set (not that i watched it but im guessing) and then BBC2 try to think theyre hip by showing the absolute car crash that was Amy Winehouse's performance and Jay Z surely this was unfair to bands like Biffy Clyro who were on at the same time?? honestly hypocrites the lot of them!

Will we ever get to see this footage?
If they're so apologetic about it why not show it to us NOW?!
That'd make up for the shite coverage... simply showing us what they denied us in the first place.
GARR!!
(Think angry, pissed off pirates for the "GARR")

I don't want to seem anal....is it just me, or does it bother anybody else that the word "response" is misspelled on the title of this thread. I'm sorry, I'm just a bit ocd about correct grammar and spelling... :S And yes, I realize a forum is the wrong place for me to be that way. hahaha Oh geez, please ignore me.

I think we need to accept that kings just arnt 'that' big.I mean Jay-Z is probably the best rapper alive along with Nas,and arguably one of the best rappers ever. Its the job of organisations like the BBC to please the masses.
But still they should have shown more of the set!!

but KOL are absolutely MASSIVE in the UK i wouldnt describe them as massive as in coldplay level (im not a coldplay fan!) but sure they do have a pretty large hardcore group of fans which is the way i want it to stay!! so we can avoid the dreaded "hangers on"

Coldplay are more mainstream.
There's no swearing in any of their songs. Their not as sex, drugs and rock & roll as KOL have been.
Coldplay are a band your mother can like.
They have a wider target audience than KOL and have been around longer so they get more air time than KOL over here.
