I could just hug him when he does stuff like that karma for starting this thread and Nathan's drumming appreciation thread! Aw thanks! I had to start them. Nathan is a God on the drums as is Jared on bass. I hate the way people have to keep saying Jared's basslines are really simple and all this stuff- it doesn't change the fact that he's class and his basslines hold the songs together. His bass always sounds louder than most other bands i hear. I love bass.....

His bass always sounds louder than most other bands i hear. I love bass..... You know what - you and me are of one mind - COMPLETELY agree with you - if I wasn't already married I would propose! Great musicianship is not just about complicated twiddly widdly in obscure scales and knife edge key changes, though that has a place. Jared has good instincts, so does Nathan, for the right thing in the right place, and knowing WHEN is as important as what. (Same for all of them, but particularly Jared and Nathan) I too am really glad Jared stands his ground for his place in the mix - it would be woeful if his lines were obscured or lost. (that's one criticism I have of Radiohead - another fave group of mine - they should turn Colin up more often!) I also like the way Jared strays out of the rhythm section, so to speak, and kind of steals melodic hook position - Arizona springs to mind immediately there. Yeah I love bass too and I love Jared
