I really, really love the drums in Razz. Not sure why.
The start is immense.

The drumming at the beginning of Crawl gives me chills.
Turn it up to 20 and just allow yourself to be swept away. Incredible.

does anyone else know what part i mean, tho?? i'm trying to get into his drumming on this song to begin with really, there's yrself and one other person who's mentioned it so i'm just trying to get there. like i got knocked up the other day. that was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! god it was so good to hear. oh i mentioned that already. i'm finding i have to get past calebs voice more these days - in a good way, it's SO Devine!. fuck. gna put some kings on and track it down. the razz sneeze!!!! i am determined never to explain that one. tis mine listening to it now. is it a stupid thing to say that he rarely actually puts a beat where you expect to find a beat. like i'm guessing that shows how tight they are together cause you surely couldn't run that kinda gap without knowing yr gonna catch it and someones gna be there to, what, run through it? i dunno how to say it. i just think it's cool. his drum rolls and skips are bliss as ever. YAY!! he's got better!!! woahhh calmmm

You know, I never really used to listen much to drummers until I started listening to Nathan's drumming. Now there's a (pitiful) part of me that wants a big drum kit with a cowbell!! I will have to foster out a child to have room, but I don't think that's an insurmountable problem.

I like where his cowbell is. Can anyone explain the two snares? Or am I being retarded I should know really, I always have to help my band's drummer set up... hey im new to this website (so hello to all ) but a big fan of Nathan being a drummer myself. the second snare to his left is a 14"X6" Brady snare (it think) it is used as a 'Timbale' drum (a generaly high pitched drum with no snare wires..) it just gives an other option for a high pitched note. it can be heard on Manhattan during the verses for example (on the '4and' iirc fellow drummers..)

I'm putting this back on page 1 too - how can we let these threads slip down the pages!?!?! shame on us!!
So - Happy Alone makes me happy, and Nathan's drumming is a huge part of it. It's simple but tight, and jaunty on the off-beats with apersistant t,t,t,t on the beat. (I don't know anything about drums - can't explain it better than that)
Also : 2.20 - 2.24 - nice!
Thank you Nathan.

I'm one of those who loves The Bucket - for lots of reasons, and I agree with you about the drumming - I also get a kick out of the dum d-dum dap! dum d-dum tdchring! during the eighteen.....balding......star etc bit. It's so simple but just right. It's just stupid how much I love this man's drumming - I could go on for hours - there's something very wrong with me. Nathan on 'I Want You' is bonkers. I'd like to see it live
