Does anyone (moderator) want to lock the Song vs. song head to head thread then somebody with alot of spare time want to trawl through the results and post them? I.e. from descending order Trani won its bout 40% of the time Milk 35% Taper Jean Girl 34% Etc. etc. I like it but I think the thread is making the music part of the forum lazy as well lol. I knwo I'm just a young upstart but .

Lol impossible!! I touwld take aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages to do ay. Maybe let it get to 100 pages, by then you have a pretty large sample size...would be a quie accurate gauge of what diehard fans like and don'tl ike in the KOL songbook. The thread with those results posted would be filled with ferocious debate I bet hahahaha...

Hi everyone, I’ve tallied it up because basically, I was pretty bored this evening and really couldn’t think of anything better to do with my time I wasn’t sure how to display the results but I just went through the thread and counted how many times each song was chosen. Of course there are reasons as to why it might be unfair like the fact that some people might not have heard certain songs etc, but whatever… As of reply #1314, there have been 1265 songs chosen so here’s the order (Allowing for a few errors because I can’t be bothered to check most of it): 1. Milk = 55 = 4.35% of total songs chosen (rounded up) 2. Trani = 47 = 3.76 % 3. Red Morning Light = 46 = 3.65% = 4. King of the Rodeo = 44 = 3.48% = 4. Arizona = 44 = 3.48% 5. True Love Way = 40 = 3.16% 6. Spiral Staircase = 38 = 7. Knocked Up = 36 = 7. Charmer = 36 = 8. Holly Roller Novocaine = 35 = 8. Ragoo = 35 = 8. Razz = 35 = 9. Wasted Time = 34 = 9. Taper Jean Girl = 34 = 9. Four Kicks = 34 = 9. McFearless = 34 = 10. My Third House = 33 = 10. Slow Night, So Long = 33 = 10. California Waiting = 33 = 10. Fans = 33 11. Woo Hoo = 32 = 12. The Bucket = 31 = 12. Soft = 31 13. Molly’s Chambers = 29 14. The Runner = 26 = 15. Happy Alone = 24 = 15. On Call = 24 = 15. Black Thumbnail = 24 16. Pistol of Fire = 23 17. Camaro = 22 = 18. Head to Toe = 21 = 18. Where Nobody Knows = 21 = 18. Day Old Blues = 21 = 19. My Party = 20 = 19. Genius = 20 = 19. Wicker Chair = 20 20. Joe’s Head = 19 21. Molly’s Hangover = 17 22. Talihina Sky = 16 23. Velvet Snow = 15 = 24. Rememo = 14 = 24. Trunk = 14 25. Dusty = 12 26. California Waiting (Alternative Version) = 7 27. Wasted Time (Alternative Version) = 2 28. Talihina Sky (Alternative Version) = 1 And the alternative version of Dusty wasn’t even mentioned to I guess that comes in at number 29. My very limited maths skills worked out that Aha Shake Heartbreak was the most popular album with 30.9% of the vote. Followed by Because of the Times with 30.67%. (So it could change any time). Youth and Young Manhood has 27.9% and all the B-sides and alternative versions come in with 10.5% - (However, there are only 12 tracks (including Talihina Sky) on YAYM, whilst there are 13 on ASH and BOTT, meaning that YAYM is at a disadvantage, but I don’t really know how to get around that) It could have been done it more technically and more interestingly I’m sure, but to be honest I don’t really know how, so now we have the numbers maybe someone could do something else with them. And as you can see, it’s very close so it would be interesting to update it in a couple of months or so to see if things have changed. Live long and prosper, Alice.

I did that a few weeks ago because I felt like I was seriously too attached to kol's music...tried to branch out. NEVER AGAIN! I couldn't listen to kol for one whole week..I couldn't sleep the first few days cause I always listen to arizona to make me fall asleep. Horrible horrible.

Great work there..... however The stats are actually a false representation of the popularity of the songs as there was no consistancy in the questions asked I.E. Milk won with 55 votes whereas. Talihina Sky (Alternative Version) only got 1 vote... Maybe if it had the same amount of head to head opertunities it would have got the same amount of votes.... if you get what I mean. It's kinda like the old statistic that more red cars crash on the road EVERY year than any other car. They are not more dangerous, theres just a hell of a lot mor of them to crash Don't mind me im just being a pedant

You're right Pexbo, and I thought of that whilst I was doing it. But I figured that the fact they were even suggested would prove them to be more popular. So Milk would have been suggested more than Dusty, but that proves that it was more popular, as more people suggested it. Would that be right? Because it's only looking at one thing (popularity) and not looking at two different things (e.g crashes and colour of the car) And even though it's not the most scientific of polls, but it's better to have an indication of the most popular songs than just a really long thread with not a lot of point.
