Every live show I've heard it's the same exact solos, same lyrics, same everything. Everything is identical to the studio tracks. No that theres anything wrong with that. they don't have to do much to impress their OMG Caleb!!1 fan base, it just makes everything more entertaining and respectable if theres a little improvisation in there
Do they do this ever?
Yeah. I'm a noooooob. Don't know shit about these guys

yea now that matt has all his effects and that all the solos to the YAYM and ASH songs are mostly different...but in a good way..and sometimes caleb will make up little additions to songs lyrically and nathan will add small drum parts that are different to the originals...
all makes for exciting stuff

Guess so....but sometimes (in my oppinion) I don't like it when bands change their music a lot when they perform live.

kjam, that's a good question. i've benn wondering too. i guess they sound more natural this way. and when they do change their songs they come up with totally new versions of them, like for example 'molly's hangover'.

I would quite like to see them do some improv, jamming and changing up the songs a bit on stage. It would give each show new flavours. I mean, I love hearing the bona fide versions of the songs, they sound really great live but a bit of improv wouldn't go amiss. I suppose I'm just used to seeing the chili peppers live (seen them many, many times) and they pull out ten/15 minute jam sessions on stage, just improvising and getting into a groove (especially frusciante) and it's amazing to watch. Perhaps as the Kings go on in their career and become more accomplished musicians they will start to mix things up a bit.

Yeah, I know what you mean kultbert, matty is the one most likely to change things up a bit I think. He sometimes changes the solos and stuff.

Watching Frusciante on guitar being completely lost in the music is a hypnotising, religious experience. No room for boredom there!
But I don't think it would be appropriate for KoL to do that, like. Their sets are tight and snappy, which works for them.

i can understand that. i suppose the fact i'm not a huge fan of them doesn't help anyway. i prefer knowing things and being able to sing and hum along i guess. each to their own.

At Leed's Festival last year me and my friend went to see the Chili Peppers on the last night, and I got unbelievably bored during the jamming sessions. I remember we got so bored during one that we went to the toilet - and when we came back they were STILL jamming. I just wanted them to get on with the songs!
