BRMC: sounded GREAT. Great band, and totally in the zone. Nailed it. Songs were not rushed, diggin deep tones, plenty of genius bass and lean improv...they play well off/with each other.
KOL. This was my fifth time seeing. Sunday was a good view from the floor, but Monday was better. Standing on Matt's side, right at the barrier. They sounded so f'n good, not much time between songs, and the energy on that stage...well, you know. holy mcshiise. We all know: Slow night, so long. Jesus H. Christmas. Ever been moved? I saw God (for the fifth time).
Me: white v neck t-shirt, drenched in sweat screaming like a madman (or a lil' girl , f'it, it was an insane rock show). Some people thought I'd be all over the place. I didn't bump anyone, elbow, mosh, or even step on a foot. Thank you all for moving out of the way. You know who you are, and if you know who I am, send a reply (girl in the red shirt with two friends, beautiful smile? Hi hon!). Anyway, if I offended anyone, I apologize. It's just the best rock and roll known to man .
930 is a great venue. The only thing about the crowds both nights is that nobody was really flippin out (like in the UK, or me)...at times it was eerily quiet between songs. That's just DC folks, so KOL entourage if you're reading this...don't be offended (Caleb looked out at the sometimes unemotional crowd as if to think, WTF, people?). All that hard energy on stage and not really too much in return, I must say. Guys were there with their girls, and nobody rocked out because they didn't want to look foolish, talking, flirting, it was a social event (totally understandable). But flip out, people!!! We were in the presence of rock rock legends to be. Let yourself go at his show.
Caleb did in fact look ticked a few times because everybody pretty much stood there and stared. I looked back a few times from the front row/stage left, and not a lot of enthusiasm, but I could tell people were "diggin it". Well, they blew the roof off 930. That's all that mattered.
Thank you thank you thank you guys for coming. Be safe out there.
