Hmmmm....I'm curious, does anyone know how long it takes KOL to record their albums? Are they known for long recording sessions? I'm thinking if they start recording in Feb, it may see a summer 2008 release date if we're really lucky. But like someone posted earlier, it most likely won't see the light of day until 2009 I'm just dying to see these guys live. i don't think they take long to record at all but i still think the silly record label will push it out later

Don't they usually write most of the songs while they're on the road? During sound checks?
So I think it's usually just 'tweaking' the songs and maybe writing a few more??
I hope it ain't too long - I enjoy playing the albums one after the other so you can really hear how they've grown as a band/musicians

I guess it's gonna be a very soft love song kinda album, since they all have girlfriends ... Yuck!!! Those were my thoughts exactly when the latest album of The Strokes came out. Julian just got married back then and I expected a lot of silly love songs, but boy, did he prove me wrong . I mean, a lot of their lyrics were kinda cheesy, but always with this vicious undertone in it (and hardrockin' guitars, of course). So don't worry, I don't see the kings end up singing 'I love you baby sooo much'-thingies. And who knows, maybe they'll suffer serious break ups and then they'll put all their anger in their songs. What a kick ass record that must be!

when he says it sounds like wham (and hes most likely being honest) does that make anyone else think that its just going to be a little more.....not poppy, but maybe radio-friendly? Possibly a little more gay? (Not the homosexual way, the cheesy way)

Well I'm convinced that the Wham! thing was a joke but the fact now is that Nathan said they already have about eight new songs done

i read somewhere, that nathan said they had about 8 new songs that they have put together mainly in sound checks. it wouldnt suprise me if they had an album out spring of 08. that would be good. oasis and kings of leon around the same time.

This whole "Wham" thing, i have a feeling he was using it as an adjective rather than saying it will be like George Micheal's "Wham!"
Like... "this is gonna be like a Wham! record"
means: "this is going to be one of those records that slap you in the face...."
Maybe? I'm just gonna throw that out there....
