Heres and interview from Oct 2004 - Funny
Last CD that blew you away?
Nathan: From disappointment or excitement?
Matthew: It's gonna be a couple of years ago. When I first got the Interpol album, I loved it. It was great.
Nathan: And The Kills, that stayed in the CD player the longest time.
Matthew: Yeah, definitely The Kills!
Nathan: My Morning Jacket... see, we name bands more than CDs because we're discovering bands every day that we've never heard before. We're not well-informed enough to go "oh well, the record they made back in '79 was much better than the one made ...whenever..."
Most prized possession?
Nathan: Legal or illegal? Well, that changes from state to state. No, my favourite pair of jeans that I wore every day during the recording of the record. Me and Caleb wore the same outfit, didn't change once! We didn't smell too great afterwards but I'll be damned if we didn't make the best record we could.
Matthew: I don't know. My suitcase.
Best Ebay purchase?
Matthew: I think I maybe got one of my amps off Ebay.
Nathan: Vintage Playboy, 1955 – 1960. All five years. The complete set.
Matthew: Oh yeah! Awesome!
Do you talk to your neighbours?
Nathan: Yes! We actually do! The ones on the left, yes. The ones on the right we have never said a word to. There's this couple, the wife has a bad back so she uses our pool while we’re away, for therapy. The guy, when we get home he's always out front with his souped-up go-kart just dying for us to ask him to drive it. We always bring him some currency from where we've been, we took him from sake from Japan…
Matthew: I've talked to both sides.
Rare FM: Do you live together, in a crazy Kings of Leon super-pad?
Matthew: No, but we did.
Nathan: And I'm sure we will again; when we've made our billions off of this record we'll buy an island and we'll all live there together.
