The Kings of Leon before/while they were signed

i thought this would be a good idea for a thread... does anybody know anything about the band before they hit it big.. like where they played local shows to start their career and get known and eventually land a record deal.. i read something somewhere they played acoustic sets, so im just curious about their early stages as musicians

Before they were a band Nathan and Caleb wrote a soundtrack for We Were Soldiers called Not so Distant Day which you can check out on bucks multiply site. its sounds nothing like the Kings im not sure who sings it but i think Caleb and Nathan wrote the lyrics.
