Im aigne if Kings Of Leon became so popular that we had to pay to be on this forum and became a 'member'. I'd probably do it but dont oyu hate it when Bands do that, just another way to get money. The only bands i know of who do it are U2 and RHCP. Its not very rock & roll if oyu ask me. Hopeuflly KOL dont get too popular or too greedy

i remember once a friend of mine asking to borrow 20 bucks so she could join the from first to last forum. i was like 'wtf? are you serious? i wouldn't join that forum if you paid me 20 bucks'. and not even cause they suck. just out of stubborness.
that would be way lame man.

i know quite a lot of bands have bits on their site where you pay to get special access. cos then they do special presales or gigs just for the members on it. which is alright if you've got the cash i guess. bit exclusive.

I'm totally against fanclubs, forums, anything other than merch, concert tickets, or records that bands make you pay for. Is your support not enough for them? That's weak sauce...I don't care how much I love them, I would not pay. If if it was for presale perks, I'd just scrounge around the internet for the password anyway, you can always find them around somewhere.

It always bums me out when bands do that because that usually means I can't do it because my parents would never go for paying for me to be a member of a bands website...it doesn't matter how much I love them.

the reason i'd pay is because of my love for the band, and them charging would kill that love...so it would be way pointless.

i think most of the time its band managers make fans pay i seriously doubt bands would just sit there trying to cook up new ways to charge people

That's only because theirs was all sorts of retarded. Someone had an official explanation, but I don't remember what it was.
It probably had something to do with theirs being retarded though, because everything I say is very factual. Always.

i did pay about 30$ for U2 membership, but that was because of the presale thing, cause U2 general sales are just insane. I also wish i had paid the Pearl Jam membership fee ontime so i could join their presale. That's the only reason i'd pay, presales, cause i'm a psychotic lunatic and i like making sure i'll get my all-important tickets. It's not fair to have a presale, but life isn't fair, and 30$ isn't that much for the experience that a concert can provide, well for me anyway. Paying for forum-access though, that's just crap. The U2 paid-only forum sucked big time, everybody was up their arses , thinking they were better because they had paid to be there. This forum is good fun as it is, let it be  p.s. i do hope the bunny rain comes soon, i love those little buggers! |
