I know that Nathan and Caleb tried the country thing early on, buying thir songs. But I want to know how much time was spent from when they first started writing their own music to the point that they had 'executives' lined up to hear them.
Anybody know? They surely didnt write a song overnight and earn everything they have now. So how many years really went into writing and becoming such a strong band?

from wikipedia:
Before trying their hand at rock and roll, brothers Nathan and Caleb sang country music. They worked for a brief period of time with label/management group Pistol Creek Productions. They spent their time with this label mainly singing at rodeos. They also were members of the West Tennessee Mass Choir for a short time. They formed a band in 2000 with their cousin Matthew.
Don't know if this answers your question directly, but if the set up in 2000 and released their EP in 2003....
