Well, the back story was cute for about five minutes, but the songs didn't get the job started until their second album Holy shit.. what's that guy on?? YAYM has always been, and will probably always be my favorite album. it's so gritty... love it!

Yeah...I got the P!ATD one a good month ago, and I didn't see anything about KOL in it...god forbid they would have P!ATD on the cover twice in one year?!?!?! The latest issue I've gotten had South Park on the cover and was dated 3/22/07...and there was no KOL in that either. Hmm...I'll just have to wait for the next one to come and see. But as far as reviews go, Rolling Stone usually runs them the same week the albums are released, so I'd give it another week yet. But when that time comes I'd expect them to get the front page of the review section, as RS tends to like them a lot. (So expect a few good pictures and one of those great illustrations). you took the words right out of my mouth. I swear. I'm gonna hang the illustration on my wall.

www.rollingstone.com/artists/kingsofleon/albums/album/13885771/review/13891139/because_of_the_timesWhat the fuck... "When the Kings first arrived on the garage-rock scene a few years ago, they whipped up so much interest right away, nobody really minded that they weren't any good. Their Grizzly Adams beards, their Bible-thumping family background -- it all fed into their fans' Huck Finn fantasy of unspoiled backwoods boogie. Well, the back story was cute for about five minutes, but the songs didn't get the job started until their second album, the stunning (and sorely underrated) Aha Shake Heartbreak." Does anyone else think this is absolute bullshit? Basically saying that YAYM is shit. And also saying the only reason we liked KoL in the beginning was for aesthetic reasons, 'Their Grizzly Adams beards, their Bible-thumping family background -- it all fed into their fans' Huck Finn fantasy of unspoiled backwoods boogie.' And also to say that BOTT is better than YAYM and ASH, is a terrible misjudegement. Cheers Rob Sheffield You can't deny that everyone loved their whole story and image when they first came out. It was all most articles focused on. However I though YAYM was pretty good.

i'm fairly certain that the guy who wrote this article is the same guy who writes the cd reviews (not album reviews, CD reviews!) for Who Weekly - the oz version of People magazine. He is a wanker. He likes music that rolling stone would generally pan the shit out of. He has pissed me off with reviews more than once, and this is just another notch in his belt, haha. One more time: WANKER
but then again, doesn't the world hate all music and movie reviewers? rofl
