Well I am just gonna warn you that I talked to a claimed Best friend of Jared. They totally knew each other obviously, but he totally tried ignoring her at the parties, even his friends did too. She completely embellished her story to seem cool.

i think it's funny that they used to be preppy. they're just normal dudes. i mean you gotta start somewhere, they weren't automatically rockstars from day 1. clothes don't mean anything anyway.

BECK is a fucking genius. Mellow Gold came out about the time that they're "supposid" preacher daddy was defrocked, and they were "set free" and all that jazz. Anyone who is anyone and knows their good music listens to Beck. He's a little bit of everything, all rolled into this crazy little white boy. End. Beck. Rant.
Anyhow, of course they were preppy boys. Shit, you think they went straight from holy rollin' good boys to the fu manchus, shit kickin' shoes, pot smokin' and beer drinking? You gotta start somewhere.
I'd believe it. Not so much on the Wal-mart schpiel but I could give a shit and 2 fucks about the whole thing. I just wanted to rant a little about Beck.

plus, if you are in high school around here, you are wayyyy more likely to be a prep/jock/future frat guy. that's just what most dudes do in this area.

I mean what's more of a stretch, Nathan getting burned by some random donut grease? c'mon if that's not fabricated I don't know what is, my guess is, yeah this cat probably did attend high school with them, so what if caleb played softball with jocks or whathaveyou. The kings are who they are today so why not just leave it at that

Nobody is obligated to tell their life story to the press just because they're famous, from anything I've read it seems that reporters usually just use the same interviews with them over and over. I doubt that they lied about their life, but they've never really claimed to be anything either. I don't doubt that man might have known them, but either way he's a suspicious character. I wouldn't put too much stock into what he says, and if he was their actual friend and everything he said was true then he's not a very nice person. Seems like he was trying to bring them down perhaps?

I talked to this guy on myspace who went to high school with jared and had an art class and he told me a story about jared teaching some girl sex ed using clay people. I believe the kid because he seems honest enough and because I sorta expect that from Jared.

people change so even if this stuff was entirely true, who are we to question it? (well, apart from the 'nathan getting burnt' story, i know how much of that i beleive) if i went back 3 years to when i was in secondary school, i wouldn't have been listening to kol's music (or most other bands/artists i listen to now for that matter) and i wouldn't have been wearing a pair of converse and cutting my own hair  i've always beleived their religious upbringing to be genuine, and they all seem genuine themselves i don't normally go into a big rant like this when discussions come up on the board (mainly because i dont do it well) none of this would change the way i interpret their music or how often i listen to the genius that it is, but it just seems a tad absurd that this guy is accusing the kings to be a fake....all four of them would have to be fucking good liers to keep it up for so long! |

And maybe the guy was lying about some of the shit. Ah well, we may never know, but the guys seem pretty honest and I believe their story. They were good ol' precher boys, of course they were preppy. If they were goths that probably would have surprised me.
Anyway, some musician have pasts that are different then who they are now. Can you believe that Tori was Homecoming Queen? She is not your typical Homecoming Queen. You would picture Paris Hilton being Homecoming Queen. You wonder how she writes songs with such depth like Cornflake Girl, Silent All these Year, yet could have become Homecoming Queen.
