media.www.thedailyaztec.com/media/storage/paper741/news/2006/11/30/Tempo/Judge.Music.By.Its.Quality-2514867.shtmlYours got cut. I like it, well written, but you started out as if you were going to write out a solution or another opinion besides your own. You wrote about the one guy who's zealous about his bands, and you, the "slow-poke." I would have liked to have read about someone who is also a music snob, but not zealous. Good go, though. I like it. Almost as much as I like your last name which is a lot. I'm one of those people that become possessive of their music, although I'm kind of moving out of that head state. It's the fact that when a band or musician becomes "mainstream" everything feels less impersonal and so the music that touched you previously no longer feels like it was meant for you, but for everyone and anyone. It's kind of like that thing about marriage and having children that was written about in that NME article. It sucks, but it's become a fact of life, unfortunately.

omg! my last name is like my pride and joy!!! :] yea, i'm always hearing about bands late and i am accused of following trends. the point of my article was that none of it matters as long as the music is still the main focus.
looking back on it, i would've written it a little bit differently. honestly it started out as revenge against my friends who didn't want to disclose the helstar name!!

Haha. That's hilarious. I have a tendency of doing that too, usually within the context of "Oh I'm going to a concert this Tuesday." "Oh, really? Who?" "Uh...this band...I really like." "What's their name?" "Uh...They're my favourite band?" "Yeah, ok. What are they called?" "...Do I have to tell you?" Retarded. I know.

im the kind of person who goes out of their way to tell people about a band or music or a movie or ANYTHING that i love! my theory is, the more the merrier!!!!
i just don't like to keep a good thing to myself. besides, i think bands appreciate the promotion. if i made good music, i'd want people to listen and relate to the message.
