Sounds like a good idea I guess, but it would have to be legal downloads right? As long as someone is willing to pay hosting then you should go for it. Bare in mind it can cost a lot to buy big enough bandwidth, so you may have to make people pay to have an user account for your site.

well I think I could host 50mb of stuff that would cover about 1000 downloads a month. But dont know if this is anywere near enough !
You send it is good for what it is but with these services the expire feature gets on my tits !

well just take it as inspiration to keep visiting that way you don't miss anything. Remember most Yousendit files last for a week (Videos seem to fall prey to bandwidth capping)

there is some yahoo email accounts that were set up awhile back with tons of kol downloads on it. i can't remember the addresses though, maybe someone who knows more about it will say something...

Well I guess that depends on what exactly you're going to host and how much word gets out about the site. I have no idea how many guys on the member list of this forum are active, but if it spreads about this site then your bandwidth will be killed.

i dunno about a seperate site for downloads....it is annoying though how people that are unactive snatch the downloads quicker than you and don't thank you at all for uploading it...it's very sly
the only reason why some people set up an account here is to get these downloads...but i dunno..

I'm sure I read somewhere that if you change one of the letters in the yousendit link address to E or D it means that the dowload is limitless or something

I only found this site the other day, its not that i dont want people to use this site, it was an idea to improve it a little by havinga download cataloug that could be managed I only found this site the other day, it’s not that i don’t want people to use this site; it was an idea to improve it a little by having a download catalogue that could be managed so all the people that spend time uploading to you send it can spend more time discussing the KOL ! I've recently downloaded loads of live stuff from them yahoo accounts. Its a bit tedious but its awesome when you look at it like its free and theres no time limit on downloads. Theres a thread on the share stuff bit of the forum. all details on there.

Does your ISP not provide free webspace + bandwidth? Quite a lot do these days, that could be useful for remote hosting.

this has already been done. There are some yahoo accounts which have most of the KOL downloads in them, they are:
username: Koldload
password: kingsofleon
there are about 5 in total all with the same password and 2,3,4 or 5 added onto the username. All the downloads are saved in the mail box.
