I think they should fully do some hardcore yaym songs again like Happy Alone and Joes Head and don't forget Dusty another song like Dusty would be awesome as hell and trow in some epic aha song styles in to give that awesome KOL sound and some more screeches from Caleb and Matt epic bass line and sweet drums like on Bott just bassically take all the awesomeness from all three albums and create some insane KOL EPICNESS
maybe a epic 20 song album aswell haha

Something that progresses their sound, but harks back to the old. Similar to BOTT but maybe with a country rock n roll number and a nice country ballad with some slide guitar. Maybe I'd appreciate a song or two with horns too.
Also I like a short album song wise - 12 at the most, but with a few songs over 5 mins.

i would love for them to incorporate some more acoustic guitar. a song with just caleb and a guitar would be amazing.
dusty is a mint song, id like to hear another like it.
i also need more guitar solo's from them.
i just hope they dont go too far and sell out their unique sound.

They should do a double album - one cd of "full rock mode" as Jared put it (kinda BOTT taken to the next level), and one going right back to their roots, country rock n' roll, lots of twanging guitar and yeah some acoustic-y stuff (good call fingersinthedirt ) taking it back to the YAYM/AHA style. That would ruuuuule

if the new album is as serious as BOTT i will shoot myself. dont get me wrong, the album is lyrically and musically genius, however, i NEED some more ash and y&ym styled stuff - some southern roots and funky stuff/ stuff i can go crazy to.. stuff that makes u want to "partay", not stuff thats serious, that u only listen to when ur feeling serious urself. does that make sense?

yes, that makes sense.
like those songs from ash and yaym that told little stories about the shit they would get up to (like razz, genius, milk ect) that were just honest. not that bott doesnt have those songs but, you know, argh, im confusing myself now... i just dont want them to rock out too hard.... well, they can rock out as long there is another song like arizona on the newbie.

i have to agree with everything everyone has said so far:
- more bass [because 'Razz' intro is saweeet] - 'Arizona' give me chills - more random, obnoxious, i-have-no-clue-what-he's-saying screaming - some 'KOL-Epicness,' as arrowman put it, would be cool too
overall, i don't really care, as long as it comes out soon! i'm a huge strokes fan and i haven't heard a lick of new album news and it's killing me! so KOL better not do the same!

I would second more solos but a few weeks ago I realized how terrible the guitar solos are on Because of the Times. Although it's my favorite album. I too would like the Bsides to be put out. I love Where Nobody Knows and My 3rd House even more so.

I don't mind if its similar to what we've already heard because I obviously love it so far or I wouldn't b on here.
I also don't mind if they try something new as long as they keep it true to themselves and their style in a way if you get me.
From what I hear its could maybe be like YAYM, think I heard that when they first announced they were planning a new album from the guys themselves. Apologies if I'm mis-informed.

BOTT is so different compared to ASH or YAYM and so good nevertheless. i just hope it'll be the same with the new album

The number one thing I don't want is bloated string sections or horns or something. That'd just kill everything KoL mean to me.
What I really, really, really want is dirty live recording sessions where you can hear little things in the background and little mistakes left in and stuff. And more old-school YAYM style songs with groovy solos that make you wanna just spazz out. Like if you're walking and listening to it on your iPod you end up strutting down the street banging your head at the appropriate moments, pulling wierd sex-faces when Matty rips it up in the solos and just looking like a total dick in general to those that can't hear the music. Or maybe that's just me................

haha i never thought of horns or strings. that would nasty! and i mean bad nasty!
i only hope they're a little happier this time around. Because of the Times seems a little more depressing than their early recordings like Taper Jean Girl or Red Morning Light, Happy Alone! even Genius.
Is Because of the Times something we should expect from now on? I guess it's obvious that they'll keep progressing as they have since the beginning, but I'll keep my fingers crossed that they have another 10 years in them before their peak. For some reason I don't even think they'll reach their peak before breaking up though. They just seem like the type of band who is able to say, "I'm done". But who knows, Caleb has already mentioned his thoughts about leaving the Music Industry, hasn't he...

Did they not say the new album would sound like a wham record? i don't get that. The only song I know wham sing is the "club tropicana". i can't imagine KOL sounding like this... www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIzVoNq9f9s...am I missing something?
