I think Rememo is in 2/2 and Trani in 4/4. I've had 10 years of music classes, but I could be wrong though.. I never really paid that much attention in class.

I have a feeling they play it with 3/4 in mind. but I always feel a 6/8 pattern near the end, especially with the 'outro'/circus type music. by the way, 3/4 and 6/8 are basically the same thing, just written and counted a little differently.
same thing for Trani. It's possible to think of it in a really slow 4/4, but it's not dead on.
3/4 or 6/8 would do it for both of them.

lol yea i new tht bout 3/4....i reckon its 6/8 though and they're playing it like 1+2+3+4+5+6 rather than 1 2 3 if that makes any sense at all...never mind it does to me i think trani is in 3/4 actually cos if u think the bass drum 2 tambourine bit...you can count 2 beats in between them....

Both songs have a little bit of a waltz feel to them, so it's fair to say that they are probably in 3/4. Rememo fits a little easier into this than Trani does, I think, because presumably the notes are all played on the first beat of every measure and it doesn't break that patter. If you listen to the solo in Trani, it fits squarely into a waltz, but for some reason I feel like it was probably written as just a really slow 4/4 based on how the rest of the song is composed, particularly the way the drums are played. Of course, it could also change time signatures, or be in both at the same time essentially, if that makes sense. I doubt if either were written as 6/8 though, only because the emphasis is on the quarter notes and not the eighth notes.

That's so weird. I don't really see the waltz in Rememo. And when I follow the 3/4 signature the way my teachers thaught me, it feels a bit wrong. But you guys are probably right anyway. So, er .. don' pay attention to what I wrote .

well basically if you listen to nate's drumming hes playing
1 2 3 4 5 6 H H H H H H B S
H being hi hats, B being bass and S being snare of course
but in trani do you not feel that nate leaves 2 beats in between, like this
1 2 3 4 5 6
B T
hmm i dont know quite confuzle

well that got buggered up the S in rememo was meant to be on 4 and the T in trani was meant to be on 4 as well

they're both in 6/8. contempory popular music isn't generally written in 3/4 though it ay sound like it. if you listen to the beat in rememo it falls (excuse the poor expression of this) BAM-bam-bam-Bam-bam-bam. If it was 3/4 it would be BAM-bam-bam-BAM-bam-bam. The strongest beat would be every 3 beats, not every 6 like it is. They fourth beat is a little stronger but not strong enough to signify a new bar. 3/4 is pretty much exclusive to classical music (i'm grade 5 in music theory).

To be fair, there is no right or wrong way.
im pretty sure they don't even write their music down. 6/8 and 3/4 work for both of them lol
