Hey jamiemac.....karma to you for this thread But here's the bad bit....KoL has just made me have a midlife crisis. It makes me so nostalgic for my youth, and makes me wish they were around to listen to in 1990. So instead of doing what i have been doing for the last 15 years (i.e bringing up kids and forgetting my other side), I keep remembering life in my twenties. If only I'd had KoL as a soundtrack then..... But for nowadays "wicker chair" reminds me of my old man..need I say more?

i would just like the kings for making it a whole lot easier to wake up in the mornings. how can you be dragging when listening to songs like red morning light and my party?
edit: this was my 500th post! i guess it could have been worse, at least i'm talking about the music and not ogling over their hot bods or anything

OK first of all, awesome thread. Karma to Jamiemac as soon as can. hmm...Kings of Leon's music has kind of change my outlook on life, for better... and for worse, I suppose. I feel like it sort of re-awakens something in my spirit that makes me want to live and experience life--the good and the bad. Their songs are so honest, unapologetic, and full-on balls to the wall raw, whether a song is driven by joy, sorrow, or they need to kick some ass. I was kind of going through a period in my life where my goal-oriented ways didn't seem to breed any real satisfaction or true happiness. I felt numb. Their music moved me, though. It makes me want to pump my fist in the air, dance like a fool, and chase what I want. It's helped me realize the importance of taking what I need and loving what I love--without any apologies It frees me, which is why I don't really give two shits if someone claims Caleb's lyrics are misogynistic or hopped up on too much testosterone. Honey, they empower me (how ironic) My love for this band has also made me do things I wouldn't normally do...you know, like board the sketchy Midnight Greyhound to a far away city (shout out to Laura and Stacy !)

Ohh yeah, that's another thing moonage. The Kings have lead me to do things I wouldn't usually. Like meeting Jade for the wembley gig. The idea of meeting someone off a forum that I have never met before would have sounded ridiculous. But now I have, it was one of the best things I have done so far in my life. Sounds OTT but meeting someone who shares so many of my interests and I get on with so well, has really really helped me feel better Now I just gotta meet more of you!

Your so lucky your mates are being cooperative. Mine are the kind to say, oh yeah I'll come. Then when it comes down to it say they can't. I'm worried they will do it with this, and I really wanna see the Kings again this year!
