Hey!
Just wondering does any1 know a good place to find the meanings/story/background etc to KOL songs??
Obviously know the lyrics but be good to know what made the songs!
Apologies if there is somewhere really obvious to find this, or if there is a thread dedicated to this, if not maybe this could be the start of a great 1!!

I've got a radio interview with Caleb where the interviewer goes through each of the songs on BOTT and Caleb talks about them if you're interested?
I could email them over to you if you PM me your email address? There is a file for each song

thanks welshgal, thats a realy gud interview, gives alot more depth to the songs! they already sounded brill but now there even better!! thanks loads 4 sending them, if ne1 has anything else bout the other albums let me no!!

This is not exactly what you're looking for but I read something a while ago, I think it was on this board actually, but it was Caleb talking about My Party and how it's about Rachel Bilson from the oc!! Apparently it was his birthday party at a club in LA and people were asking him what he wanted for his birthday and he just kept saying 'make sure rachel bilson comes to the party, that's all I want' and then he turned up on the night and she was there just by complete coincidence. She was with her boyfriend though so nothing happened. But I just thought it was interesting that he would write a song about a girl he really didn't know! And, um, he definitely has a type!

I've heard "the runner" story a couple times in different interviews Soviet, and i always heard it as the band was mad at him. I dont think its a knock on Belgium.

I think they do use it as an all round example, 'cause they do it more often! I once saw a Jared interview and he was talking about the difference between gigs in America and Europe. At one point he goes: Most gigs in Europe are amazing, the crowds in England are unbelievable. But the you go to, like, Belgium, and nobody's there! They're still struggling with the 'Belgian guy calls KoL inbreds during gig' - thing, I guess. Oh well, as long as I like living here . |
