During the verse and stuff Jared doesn't hit the E on the 12th fret, he just hits it open.
Makes it so much easier. And the bit at "shake hands" isn't on the 12th fret E either, it's on the 7th fret A ;]

Instead of
G|------------------------------------ D|---14--13--11------------------- A|----------------------14--12--11 E|-12--12--12--12----------------
It's
G|---------------------------------------- D|------14---13---11----9--7--6------ A|---------------------------------------- E|---0-----0-----0----------------------
I'm pretty damn sure that's right after watching COUNTLESS videos, pausing and repeating parts where you can see Jared playing it.
It'd make more sense to play the E open as well considering how much more awkward the other way is.
I hope that tab actually comes out semi decent on this forum 'cause it took ages and I've never actually done one before AND it's 20 past 3 now because the damn clocks have changed! >.<

I swear my way's right! Well, it Jared's way not mine but still, it's not an octave higher. www.youtube.com/watch?v=uplzeKCUOVwWatch Jared at around 39 seconds in... Or whenever else you can see him play the verse it's clearly an open E and D|9--7--6--
