This thread is hilarious! But really, what's he saying in Soft? It's not "I used to sleep every day"?

I'm generally bad at remembering words to songs and as a result often just sing whatever I think sounds best at the time!

It's not? What's he saying then? I always thought the line "You caught me whilst a lyin" was "You caught me with a lion, you caught me with my pants down." I thought it was about bestiality. hahaha! thats so funny...emm there's loads but the only one i can think of is when caleb says "he's here to rectify" in 4kicks i used to think it was "reck the bar" and in Black Thumbnail i thought "cold cold sailor heart" was "cocoa sailor heart", like he's got a chocloate heart haha the Bucket caused the most confusion though- i thought "3 in the morning come a bang bang bang all outta fags and i just cant cant wait" was "me and the money come a bang bang bang, i light a fag, sayin i just cant wait" and.... "Look at the shaky's whats with the blush Fresh off the plane in my fuzzy rush" -> "you get the shakers i get the bush, scratch off the pain in my fuzzy rush" ...ahh that's definitely what I thought, the scratch off the pain in my fuzzy rush. Yay for not being able to understand KOL lyrics!!

What are the funniest Kings of Leon lyrics you've misheard? In 'Velvet Snow' when he sings 'Showing off your Sunday streak of lace' I thought he was singing 'Showing off your sunny shaven legs'. Makes sense? I thought it was 'sunny shaven legs' too! In Fans I thought Caleb was singing 'she's got a hide but all that it hides is his asshole' instead of 'she's got a hat and all that the hat says is asshole' (I know it doesn't make any sense). I don't even want to go into what i thought the lyrics in Milk were...mine are much ruder than the ones printed on the sleeve anyway!

my sister & her best friend both thought that in "King of the Rodeo" when Caleb sings "good time to roll on" that he just said "Do dot do do do, do dot do do do"
they sang in front of me one day & I was like "what the sam hell are you singing?!" when they told me I was laughing so hard I almost cried.

i must confess, i thought "good time to roll on" was actually "go talk to Rolo".
and yes...as in the chocolates of the same name.

i reckon i could go through every song prior to BOTT and find a misheard lyric

Actually it's "something shaved and lacey" according to the booklet in the cd. Not that it really matters because I can't keep up with the lyrics in that song anyway. It's so fast. It's my ultimate freakout song. I just yell nonsense up until the end with "Leave it up to me and I'll just drown you...Out into the city where you came fro-uh-uh-ohm." They need to start playing this song live again.

In Soft I also thought it was 'I used to sleep, every day'. But that's not as funny. It's not? What's he saying then? I always thought it was either "I used to see you every day" or "I used to see her every day".

im pretty sure all of ASH is misheard... the other day i was singing four kicks (with no musical accompaniment), and of course i know the words, but kati was like "i'd sing along with you...but i dont know the words. it only works when the song is playing. i try to make all the right sounds. but thats the best i can do."

i do that, i listened to ASH for years before checking the lyrics so i knew the 'words' off my heart, like i could sing along but it would be long mumbojumboword sounds
stuff like 'rememo zephyrome....'
