Okay, not one of the more exciting threads, but I'm curious:
1. Does anyone know how many albums BOTT has sold? Does anyone know how that compares to their other albums?
2. Does anyone know how well BOTT charted on Billboard, if at all?
I guess I just want to know if BOTT is considered a commercial success for the band.

well first it went into no2 and stayed there for weeks and weeks, up and down the top 5 then after Oxegen it went to no one for 2 weeks or something and its still in the charts not sure what number now. its been in the album chart since it release and at one point the 3 albums were in the top 50!

i reckon that BOTT debuted #25 here in the US when it first came out.. i think that is the lowest it went in the charts.

A pretty uncool fact that Because of the Times was the lowest selling no.1 album in the UK ever

seems really popular in Ireland... well its gained a lot of press and popularity for the kings anyhow. finally all my friends are getting into them. if only they'd been listening to me rant about them these last few years...

Thanks you guys! Why do their albums do so good everywhere but America? I just don't get it. I think in the US they placed on Billboard's "Alternative" chart, but then quickly fell off. I blame it on their record label - I don't think they promote the band well at all. Any fans they have here in America are because they tour their asses off. They've put out some of the best albums ever, and hardly anyone has heard of them. And they get absolutely no airplay over here on the radio. It just ain't right! Caleb said in an interview that they wanted at least "one big record", and were hoping BOTT was it. Sadly, I don't think that happened (at least not here in America).

Maybe this is selfish but I am glad they haven't blown up in the U.S. cause It would suck to have go to see them in a big venue like a stadium. I'll take a sold out small venue anytime. I also don't have to worry about getting a ticket either. But I'm afraid it's starting to spread slowly as the last show seemed to have a larger # of douchebags than before, and by douchebags I mean people with no respect for each other, pushing and fighting for main floor spots, and moshing. Moshing started with Punk and the douchebags took it and ran with it....know what I mean?

i totally agree thewatcher... i don't want them to be well known in the US. they're like my little secret i'm not a fan of the radio and i don't watch tv, so i don't really like a bunch of bands that are really popular.

I kind of feel the same way as you guys - I love the fact that I can see them at small venues still. But......I think they deserve so much more. I saw them at Lollapalooza about 1/2 a mile from the stage, and all I could see was them on the big screen, yet I still really enjoyed their show and had a great time. It just bugs me that really lame artists can sell millions of records here in the US and fill out big concert halls, yet KOL didn't even sell out the Ryman Theater in their hometown of Nashville last week. That is just wrong, wrong, wrong!

BOTT peaked at 25 i believe. and it sold 41,019~ copies in the first week.
i dont understand why they arent massive in the states. its too bad. im tired of being the only person that knows about them where i live.
i think the US listens to what they are told to listen to. someone should tell them to listen to kings of leon. i dont know that many people.

in comparison to a number one ......100-200 thousand copies in the first week is normally top 5 in the charts
