I freaking love KOL but their setlist has become such a bore they need to play
Joe's Head Camaro Happy Alone The Runner Trunk Woo Hoo Day Old Blues Red Morning Light Dusty Holy Roller
They need to do something to lighten up their live set, a cover would be amazing something like "tuesday's gone" or something really southern. I would particularly like to hear Camaro live it'd be insane
I'm drunk and felt like a rant

Drunk? I'm at work, maybe you're in a different country!
But I agree, I would love to hear Holy Roller and Day Old Blues live. I also want them to play Ragoo but think I've read that they can't for some reason?
I've not seen them live much though so I'll be pleased with anything really!

I saw them two times, in 5 weeks time I guess, so I had to listen to the exact same set list twice. Didn't really care that much, 'cause they gave a completely different show, so it was very entertaining, both times. My friends did get bored with me the second time because I told them exactly which song they would be playing next. But I agree, they should put a bit more of their 'old' stuff into it, and not just Trani and Spiral Staircase. I would love to see Red Morning Light live, 'cause it was the song that made me a fan.
But they can't please everyone and play all requests, can they?

This is a complaint that I know a lot of people have with various bands and I'd like to voice mine as well!! I think every band needs to shake things up a bit and keep it fresh. There are so many songs I'd love to hear them play but I can't see it happening. Hell, I nearly fainted when I got Knocked Up AND Arizona............... it almost felt like too much to ask!

KOL take themselves WAAAAAY too seriously. They're so concerned with their image(s) that it seems like they're not having fun and ... forgive me if I'm wrong ... isn't that part of the appeal of making music for a living? Their music is tops but their attitude flops. I've decided I'm not even going to listen to their music until the next album comes out. I wish them the best of luck but I'm done for a while. Maybe they'll have a near-death experience, or an encounter with the lead singer of Gogol Bordello, and lighten the fuck up.

yeah, i'm not much for the stone-cold badassery. it's not like we'd love them less if they exuded the slightest bit of happiness on stage.

I'd like to see them be a bit spontaneous. Their sets are kind of "...dry...like toast without butter...or no marmalade" (from My Big Fat Greek Wedding. it's funnier when you read that with the Greek accent). Okay, saying their sets are like toast is an obvious exaggeration, but there is a something about them that's so methodical--just lacking in spontaneity, I guess.

Completely agree with all the sentiments being shared here..... I hate to criticise thought because they are one of my favourite bands of course and I have seen them a billion times now and I still get the butterfly tummy feeling just thinking about seeing them again. But my complaints are:
Complete lack of spontanaeity (sp??) Would it kill them to shake up the setlist or maybe even *gasp* play something new (or old, whatever)? They never look like they're having fun The posing and obvious image-consciousness makes them seem like they're heads are up their own arses (I remember quite clearly giving Caleb a big smile once and I know he saw me and all I got back was a patronising, moody stare *hands Caleb a ladder* get over yourself mate) The other three never say a word Caleb says (and does) the same thing over and over and over and over......zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.............
I know that is really harsh ^^^^ not to mention hypocrital as I'm going to see them about a hundred times in the next month so they must be doing something right.

I know exactly what your saying, they just need to connect a bit better with the crowd at their shows, it doesn't take much to smile back at someone who clearly is there because they like your band or whatever... or even just to say a few words every now and then not just the same thing of 'we are kings of leon' all the time, I hate when bands get that kind of 'head up their own arse' syndrome! But like you said I love to go see them live and will see them again the end of the year.

They are one of the tightest live acts I've ever seen so I wouldn't even dream of criticising that BUT would it be too much to ask for a spot more audience interaction? Ok, some people aren't natural show-men but just tellng the audience in EVERY place you play that they're the best night so far is transparent and seems mechanical in it's delivery. If I hadn't seen the other guys speak in interviews, I could be fooled into thinking they're a bunch of mutes.

I'd rather have them say nothing and play more songs, then have them say stupid stuff that every band says like "we love playing here, you're great, blablabla", and have less songs. I think it's just in their nature to not speak much on stage, don't you think that if they were real extravert (is this the right word?) in real life, they would be too on stage? So i'm go with less talk more rock!!
They should play The Runner though, almost a crime to not play that song!

I saw them two weeks ago at the pukkelpop festival, i think he said 3 things:
- Hello we're Kings of Leon (after about 3 songs) - you might know the next one so you can sing a long, or not. We'll see. (middle of the set) - Thank you, we were Kings of Leon. (end of set)
Awesome gig btw.

Also at Pukkelpop, Jared smiled at me, for real. There were a lot of crowdsurfers there, and one fell on my head so I fell on the ground. The people around me were friendly enough to pick me back up. The moment I jumped up, I saw Jared looking and I began to wave like crazy. And he smiled . So much for the interaction ...
