I agree to a certain extent but I actually love this version and I also think that it's a compliment to the band that he wants to sing with them, from what I've seen on youtube he sang this with them when they toured together.

I totally disagree with Sofarfromhome!! I loved it - and it was only 1 song. If he sang a whole bunch of songs, then I'd agree with you. But 1 song.....HELL YA!

I agree so much. I wasn't there but I was disappointed when I watched the video, but probably because I don't like Pearl Jame all that much.

Ah, just leave 'em. Look at them, they're so proud having Eddie on stage with them, and they are totally enjoying theirselves. I saw them doing this exact same 'duet' at Werchter, and man, they blew me away. It was so much fun!

I suppose it's alright if you've seen them a few times before anyway. Plus at festivals anything goes really. I'd be a bit annoyed if they did it at one of their own gigs.

I've seen the videos and I thought it was awesome. I mean Eddie Vedder was SO into it, as were KOL--it was great. Those are the kinds of performances that make concerts special.

I agree with moonagedaydream Festivals are magical and you can sometime have the most unexpected/rare appearences I saw Martha Wainwrite perform with Snow Patrol which has only happened a couple of times before and Dave Grohl Invade the stage and hug Gary Lightbody at V festival the other week and it was a real moment not rehersed everyone was moved including Gary and it will probably never happen again. It wasn't like Eddie sang the whole song himself with Caleb on backing.

My opinion? I'd be the happiest person if I had seen Caleb and Eddie singing a song together and sharing the mic. For sure Caleb asked Eddie to join in this song because he'd like Eddie's appearence there and that sounded awesome as always! Definitely Eddie wasn't invading or disturbing King's set... In my humble opinion.

I'm not a Pearl Jam fan, but it is good to see the guys interacting with someone else on stage. It seems to bring out another side to them.

It was amazing now I choke everytime I hear Chasing Cars - that was the song he dedicated to Dave Grohl.

Love KoL, love Pearl Jam. It was obviously KoL who invited Ed out there, Ed loves their music. That's why they asked them to tour together in 2006. If it weren't for that I still probably wouldn't have heard KoL's music (because radio stations around here sure don't play them). sorry you were disappointed but most people weren't, imo.

I think it flat-out kicks fucking ass that Eddie got on stage with the boys. The guy is an icon of rock and roll, an incredible artist and performer, and I think it's fantastic that he's not only promoted (and in a way, validated) KOL as a great band to a whole new audience, but that they all seem to like each other on a personal level. Eddie's a good influence and a genuinely nice guy. And I love the change of vibe when he comes on with the boys - you can tell that they love it, and to me, that's what makes the best concerts.
Personally, I probably would have missed the performance, because I'd be on the ground hyperventilating with excitement. But like my grandma always said, to each his own....

I feel that their is great mutual respect between the bands. Eddie Vedder professed his love for KOL's music and in turn invited them on tour with them. KOL are a fantastic band, but by touring with Pearl Jam they were exposed to a very large and passionate fanbase that I am sure accepted them with open arms. I guess what I am saying is that I am sure KOL appreciates the guidance and support that bands like Pearl Jam, U2, and Bob Dylan provided for their careers. As far as collaborations onstage, I think they are great, and Vedder has come onstage to perform with KOL in the past. If you look at the lineup for the last day of Lollapalloza it goes KOL, My Morning Jacket, and Pearl Jam. Both of those bands recently opened for Pearl Jam and I don't think its a coincidence that they lineup was scheduled like that. Pearl Jam was one of the pioneers of Lollapallooza and I am sure they wanted to spend their time with the bands they love and respect. Almost a sort of welcome home party to the Lollapalooza scene. Maybe one day when KOL has achieved a similar status they will pass the torch and do the same for another younger up and comming band. Keep in mind that KOL invited Eddie Vedder onstage, he didn't force his way onstage, and I am sure they were HONORED that he was there.
