Does anyone else wish that the Kings would just bust out a solo every now and again. Be it Nate on the Drums, Matt on geetar or Jared on slaps? The ONLY problem I have with them is that their shows are all very structured.

I agree. I love that they sound so much like their recordings live, but it would be cool to see them do what they could do on the spot too.

I concur, but its still amazing. I would be more bothered by it if they were playing at a lesser level. Plus Matthew's solo's are a bit different everytime, as they rightfully should be.

The ONLY problem I have with them is that their shows are all very structured. yeah i've thought that too cus i have all their live stuff and their studio stuff and both versions are pretty much the same. but i'm glad they don't pull a Led Zeppelin and do a 41 minute version of Trani. haha. i do like how in pistol of fire they switched up the "aiyyyah" so its longer and live he kinda says "mally" instead of "molly" but that would be cool if they took the songs in a totally different direction sometimes. that said, they're the best live band by far i have ever seen [better than Nsync!! ] whahaha. although sometimes i wish they would change their setlist around. but they're still way cooler than everyone else so BYAAA.

Yes. I too concur. Part of what makes the Datsuns so good is their jamming on stage - same with the Chili Peppers.
The Kings are great, but a song like Milk or Razz would be even greater jammed out a bit (if that's possible).

I agree. I'd like to see them loosen up a little bit more on stage (sometimes they seem scared or bored up there), jam a little, and possibly do something totally unexpected.....like cover another song.
That being said, I'm still going to see them live every chance I get!

It's great to see a bit of jammin and the set list changing, the dream of seeing your favorite song that they never play and the moment when they do, but there is nothing worse than going to see a band you love and not recognising anything 'cause they've screwed around with it all so much drives me crazy.

I agree, I too wish they would just bust out something wicked. I would love to see Matt do a solo or Nate, hell each one of them would be kick ass. They definitely got the talent to pull it off.

I hate to say it, but I agree with the whole Nate thing. He always looks so bored up there. It's almost as if he is going through the motions, but I think that's just the kind of man he is. He is very low key and a chill sort of person. At least that's the vibe I got from him when I was speaking with him.

You justwrote that to mention how you talked to him to make us all jealous, didn't you? I'd love to see thme start off with ia crazy jam simliar to what RHCP start with and hen just move straight into Black Thumbnail or whatever.

Even when he comes up at the end to sign off, Nathan looks like he's about to fall asleep.
The NME summed it up best at Benicassim - how does he manage to get through McFearless with all the enthusiasm of man waiting for a bus??
