Hey guys&girls,
I'm new to the site - i'm gonna start off by being quite risque and say that I think Aha Shake Heartbreak is a superior album to Because of the Times.
Don't get me wrong I do love the new album especially 'My Party', 'The Runner', and 'Arizona' but it doesn't compare to Aha Shake.
I don't know Aha Shake flowed much better as an album as a whole - plus the whole musicality was much more in your face rocking riffs etc

i just never brought myself around to picking a favourite album or single of KOL - i think my head would explode. i love them all

Yeah I guess. I've been listening to Because of the Times non-stop - actually Arizona has been on repeat for the last few days.
Aha Shake is like my baby cos I listened to it every day for a year when I lived in Toulouse. So you know it's hard to see your baby growing up or is that a really bad analogy!! OH I DON'T KNOW

Smiting is also an opinion though right ? lol I opinionate not to smite as i understand the opinion of this person where as she still has admirable taste for liking kings of leon. So really let's give them some Exalt on their chips.

i agree that Aha Shake Heartbreak is better than Because of the Times. i feel like it was more of an honest album and that they sold out a bit for because of the times.

To put it simply: All three albums are different, therefore you are going to prefer one. Wether BOTT is better or not doesn't matter, what matters is its a representation of where they are musically at this moment in time.
Thats why I like them as a band, they didn't say "ASH was great lets do that again, but better" they said "well i really like playing like this and singing about this so we should do this". Bands that try to repeat their success by using a winning formula piss me off and I refuse to recognise them as musicans, they have their business heads on and not their artist heads. (*cough*Red Hot Chilli Peppers*cough*)

I was reading an interview with that quote and it was just so funny I had to post it somewhere, here seemed perfect. Heh, I'm actually partial to ASH aswell to be perfectly honest. So it would be riduculous to smite someone who thought so too. Anywho, sorry if I offended anyone. |

Ahahah..cool..man I was so confused..because for the life of me I couldnt figure out what was so smiting about my post..but I obviously didnt see the minus karma because it had already been restored...so all that was left that could have been offensive was my post! But it wasnt..so lalala..Holy shit a huge branch just blew of the tree in my garden!! What the hell...could it be a sign? A sign of what though...mmm oh ya'll can stop reading this post now..I've derailed shamelessy and cant seem to stop it..my head says; knock it off, but my fingers keep typing..

hi guys im also knew to this site and iv been reading threads for ova a year bt now iv decided to join i no im really silly.....but i think that everyone has a right to their own opinion and if u prefer ASH then thats all gud. personally wen i first got BOTT i was really dissappointed but after listening to the album again for the second time i realised for me it was their best album so far it jus grew on me and now its one of my favourite albums!!!!!!!

yeah i didn't like BOTT when i first heard it, i thought it was too heavy, but now i love love love it. i still like the weird funkiness on ASH like pistol of fire and razz but i think that would have gotten old if they stuck with it, so i'm glad they switched it up a bit on BOTT. : ) then again KOL can do no wrong in my eyes....lol
