It's good, but I think there are quite a few songs on BOTT that are better. If I had to make a list of my favorites off BOTT, the bottom two would be McFearless and then My Party. Trunk and The Runner would be ahead of those. It's kind of funny that quite a few people on this very site would list McFearless and My Party as their favorites. I guess it just goes to show that there is something for everyone on BOTT. We all have different tastes. I like Trunk and The Runner more every time I hear them. I probably have a different KOL favorite song almost daily. Sunday I listened to Rememo over and over. For whatever reason I could not hear that song too many times that day. Monday it was Where Nobody Knows. Today I listened to Rehab by Amy Winehouse a few times. Who knows what I'll be into tomorrow......

This song sounds almost like the Kings decided to go Lite Rock. Unlike earlier attempts at softer material ("Tranni," "Milk") it lacks that neurotic rock edginess.
But it does have a good sense of melody and atmospherics and opens up new doors for them in terms of sophistication. Whether it's best for them to go through those doors, though, is up for question!
I enjoy this song, though. I don't think the title has anything to do with the song -- same as "Ragoo" and "McFearless."

"I don't think the title has anything to do with the song -- same as "Ragoo" and "McFearless." I've always wondered why bands do this. I don't mind the titles, although instead of McFearless, "It's My Show" might have been more sensible, and instead of Ragoo, something like "Stream" may have had a better fit. No big deal. As I recall, nowhere in Nirvana's first hit song do you actually hear the words "smells like teen spirit."

maybe the word "trunk" has a different meaning to what we think it has! By far one of the best and underated songs on the album.

Good responses, and they prompted me to look at the lyric sheet. I had mistook some words (and easy thing to do with KOL!) and now I think that "Trunk" has something to do with drug trafficking.
I had previously thought it was a sort of anti-love song, like that Bad Company song that goes "I take whatever I want, and baby I want you." But the references to "hurt nose" and "tight knot" evoke images of cocaine and heroin, and my guess is they're stashed in the ...trunk.
I had previously thought the title was a non-sequitor because I had interviewed Nathan for an article, and he told me "Ragoo" and "McFearless" had titles that had nothing to do with the songs.
When the article appears, I'll link it here, although I didn't include those quotes (I can find them and give the board an exclusive, if anyone is interested).

Somewhere there is a radio interview with Caleb and he describes the meanings behind each song track by track, he says that trunk is about a fella' who has his girl tied up in the TRUNK of his car, I think the quote was "If he can't have her nobody can". I do like the song though, it's not the most interesting to listen to but it's kinda' creepy and trippy, it creates a different mood you know.

i had a cool thought that as an opener for the tour, it should be all black and u just hear caleb singing slow and loud "what i gotttttt, she wanttt" and then go right into mollys chambers or somethin
seems pretty cool in my head

I think maybe with it being towards the end of the album, it is isn't it? I forget..
But it seems to blend into the background along with songs like The Runner, maybe they could have reviewed the arrangements of the songs on the album? .. Spreading them out, like the more vibrant and faster songs with the slower more relaxed ones.. I can't actually think where it is on the album.. hmm.. ah yes it is near the end. It's a great song though but I always forget what it is and I have to check what it is when it comes on 'cause it never normally clicks in my head.
