I have yet to see a song on their cds or a video on YouTube of KOL performing a song by anyone else. Do they ever perform a cover song in concert? I really don't care one way or the other, but the curiosity is getting to me, since many bands cover songs by other bands. Years ago Heart used to open their shows with Led Zeppelin's "Rock and Roll". I'd take that as a compliment. Anyway, I know this is kind of a BS post, but if anyone has an answer, I'd appreciate it. Thanks fellow fans.

hmm... you're right. I've never heard them do a cover song.
Anyway, though, I love Heart (esp. the early stuff). But yeah, KOL should cover something really unexpected and rock the shit out of it...like Billy Idol or they could draw some inspiration from me and do David Bowie's Moonage Daydream--"You're squawking like a pink monkey bird!"

I think after having watched so many bands try to cover their songs (and butchering them in the process) they're still humble enough not to think they can cover famous songs (although there are quite a few songs that I would love to hear their version of someday)

Yeah, a Led Zeppelin one would kick ass, "Paranoid" by Sabbath too, and "Helter Skelter" as well, "Inmigrant Song" by Led would kick ass

great bands don't need to pull off covers

^they don't "need" to, no. But great bands can pull their spin on classic rock songs can't they? Afterall, great bands are the only ones who can afford to do that.

As I stated, I could care less if they do, or if they don't. I just had not heard or seen written anywhere that they had done any. I heard a song on the radio the other day that would have been a good choice, but now I can't remember what it was.
Led Zeppelin, Bob Dylan, and many more of the top musical artists over the years have covered other performers songs.
If I remember correctly, Bob Dylan heard Jimi Hendrix's version of Bob's song "All Along The Watchtower". Supposedly Bob liked it better than the way he himself had written it, and started performing it in concert the way Jimi Hendrix did it. I think that's pretty cool.

^Maybe Bob started playin the song Hendrix's way because he knew it was better.

That was my point. Hendrix did his song better, so he decided to do it that way too. He cared about the quality of the song, and didn't mind that someone covered it. I suppose to some bands it's quite a compliment.

Bare with me but I've been thinking about this and heard two songs come up on my itunes lately that I thought musically the Kings Would be great covering.
1 Paridise City by Guns and Roses
2 Rusty cage by Soundgarden
All of the intruments are featured in both songs and I think that is what I love about the Kings is there is no weak spot. They all play their respective Instuments as well as the other.
If your not familiar with these songs check them out.

But when I read your post I just had an image of Caleb singing to this at a festival, like the G'n'R video.. Jesus, that would rock.

Eric Clapton always said that Jimi Hendrix played "Crossroads" better than Cream ever did.... and it was one of Cream's Signature songs.
I for one, love cover songs, and especially the ones which turn out better than the original (Dylan's All Along the Watchtower as previously posted)
Helter Skelter is a great idea... but I don't see the boys as "Beatlemaniacs."
I think they would be better off covering a more modern song...
How about one of the up-tempo White Stripes songs?
They could add the bass, throw in another guitar here and there (or Caleb can just sing it an put his away for a song).
I'll nominate Black Math or Hypnotized.
The Kings could also do any Smashing Pumpkins song. They would elminate all the fuzzy guitars and distortion and just crush it. Would be excellent imo.
