I figure just aboout every other song has a thread going...
anyway i think this song is amazing. so mcfearless is definately the next single? i know its going to be hard to make it a single with songs like fans and blackthumbnail on the album but i sure hope they release this. cause its such a great song to dance to or listen to in the car, i think it would be very popular.

This is a great song. The bassline reminds me of Death From Above 1979's more danceable stuff, while the lyrical performance in the verses evokes, of all things, LCD Soundsystem! I've no idea why. It is a nice, dancy song though, and unlike anything else on the album.

It's somewhat strange how we're all different and like different songs on BOTT. Isee posts on here from people stating their favorite songs by KOL, and some are my least favorite. My Party in my opinion, is the weakest song on BOTT, but other seem to love it. Razz, Milk, and a few more are songs I could never get into, but others have them listed as their top songs by the band. I guess there is simply something for everyone on each KOL release.

I heard My Party was written about Rachel Bilson..
Apparently Caleb had a massive crush on her at one point and they invited her to his party.. but they never spoke..
I might be wrong.

na you're right he said the chorus was written about her, but she wasn't actually at HIS party, she just happened to be there at the same place at that time or something...

I remember him reading an interview about him saying that he had a huge crush on her. He was having a birthday party at this club and she showed up, but she was not there for him. She was there with her boyfriend at the time and she waved at him and he like froze. She did not speak to him for the rest of the night. I think that's the story. He also said something along the lines of she is single now. I would LOVE to see him with Rachel or maybe Natalie Portman. He needs a good girl. This song is fuckin amazing. Gets me dancing every single time. It's a one of those feel good songs. |
