They have three, "Youth and Young Manhood" (first), "Aha Shake Heartbreake" (second) and "Because of the Times" (third) and you should buy the three of them at the same time, if you're short on money buy the last one that has come out a few days ago

Seeing as they only have three albums, in contrast to Pearl Jams lengthy back catalogue, you should definitely start with Y&YM and move on from there, that way you'll get a proper feel for the progression of their sound

I just got Because of the Times this past weekend because a co-worker was listening to it. I couldn't hear it too well and thought he was listening to some classic rock band like Skynard or the Allman Bros until he set me straight..lol. After 1 listen, I bought tickets to their show (Atlanta), bought the 2 other albums and googled the b-side songs. I am officially hooked!

Imagine! The joy of discovering KOL for the very first time. I agree with those who have said get the albums in the order they came out. Be sure to let us know what you think!

I would always say Youth & Young Manhood. It is by far my favourite album by Kings anyway, and you get the feel of their punky kind of routes. It also tells many stories about small town life, I think the lyrics are incredible on that album. It gives you a sense of where they come from, more than the other two albums in my opinion.
Just listening to it makes me feel really good, and their other two albums don't have the same effect. Although both are quality albums.
And by the by, if I was going to recommend a Pearl Jam album to a newbie, I'd probably recommend No Code. It's my favourite! And obviously Ten is always good for an immediate impact.
