Howdy! I'm new to this forum, so no doubt this topic has already been discussed, but I'll stick my two pence in regardless! The new albums only been out just over a week but how does everything think it compares with their first two so far? For me it's a slightly new sound. It appears far more polished, with more mature feel, although still maintaining the unmistakable Kings Of Leon character. I liked youth and young manhood, and would have to say that Aha shake heartbreak is in my top 5 favourite albums, as for because of the times it's still really early days, but the signs are good and I cant listen enough to charmer, mcfearless or ragoo.

i think that if you follow band through ther life span not all albums are going to be the same ,bott is a bit slower then the other 2 but it has tremendous depth and the production is better than the last two ;having said that the raw sound was what got me in to the band but it will be just as loud and proud live as the others ,but the way cant wait cardiff july, reading friday . oh yes.

I'm still listening and giving it it's due, but so far, it's my least favorite. YAYM was a very raw effort from a band that showed great promise, especially with "Happy Alone." ASH is one of--if not THE--most brilliant sophomore effort ever and one of my top 10 of all time.
Parts of BOTT are just as brilliant as anything they've done and I like some of the production. But "Charmer" is irritating (and I could care less about the Pixies references), though a lot of the instrumental work is great. "Arizona" sounds too much like hair-band material for my taste and suffers from what sounds like over-production. However, "On Call" is a great yearn-n-burn song and "Black Thumbnail" may be the best cut on the CD.
However, I'm still listening to it and reserving judgment because it is a new sound.

i reckon it shits all over ASH & YAYM. that might not go down with soem people though I've been listening to it about ten weeks - it is the best so far and that wasn't an easy task after Aha Shake Heartbreak.

Hard to describe how it compares
YAYM and ASH were two superb albums but i had found newer bands that i liked more.
BOTT has come along and become one of my fav albums of recent years which in turn has led me to appreciate first two albums a lot more

I love the album Everyday i have a new favourite track but my top 3 are mcfearless, black thumbnail and arizona. i also like camaro but a lot of people dont like that one. Its songs like Trunk that I find a little boring compared to the rest of the album. But i still love it

I love the new album because it's a different side of the band then last two. I think if they kept on releasing albums like ASH and YAYM, which i'm sure they could do, it would start to get boring and repetative. I think BOTT is really fresh more them and shows the band has matured a lot. I love Ragoo and Fans, but I think Knocked Up is a brillant opening tune for this album cause it's the biggest change in the band. Both the length of the song and style.
Overall, I still have to go with ASH as my favorite just because I like the up tempo style and rawness of it. Looking forward to seeing them live in June though, should be awesome.
