could someone PLEASE explain the meaning/message/wat its about... i REALLy have NO IDEA!
that really annoys me about KOL songs...i love the songs to death, really, but i dont know wat caleb is talking about a lotta the time..i think its coz im not a very analytical person in relation to texts (like in english classes, i dont understand poetry, etc).
can anyone explain to me the meaning of Arizona? coz its easily in my top three songs of BOTT, if not the first (depends on my mood)...even a link to this supposed interview...?

well ive heard caleb talk about it a good few times and basically he said that unlike many of their songs it is actually word for word about one girl. he and one of the others in the band went to some whore house...in arizona, and he saw some really stunning young girl there and was really affected by it and wondered how her life could hav gotten so messed up that she ended there...theres more to it aswell... if u go to buckyboo.multiply.com/music/item/177 you can listen to him explain each song |

I first heard Arizona when they were touring with Dylan in San Diego and it was before the album came out so I had to listen to the crap recording of it I had on my phone. But for the longest time I thought it was about Caleb getting punched out by the boyfriend of the girl he was signing about. Then when I read the lyric I finally realized.

My favourite.
On the one hand I want it to be 3rd single so everyone can hear it and appreciate how good it was.....
On the other I want it kept as a hidden gem so its not ruined by over play.
(It would make an easy video though.......)

This song just completely blew me away. I feel so lucky to have seen them play a few times now - for me the song is all about Jared's bass playing. Utterly gorgeous.

i LOVE those last two lines I kind of think I like her Kind of think I do its so sweet and honest which i think stops the song sounding sleazy, not easy when its about a whorehouse I love all the lyrics, but yeah I especially like those too. When he sings it, it justs sounds pretty personal. I love the song, cause it sounds like it's been around for years. Classic! |
