Well I was talking about this to a friend last night who doesn't knowthe song and I said salty leaves she said. "Its a Fanny innit" Then she referenced the cover design and said well if petals can be Labial...
But I'm still sure the poor girl is lactose intolorant and has problems getting to school in the morning, perhaps due to other food intolorances causeing her interupted sleep.

It isn't specified in the song that "being school tardy" refers to being to school late in the morning. If its highschool she could have been skipping school to give Caleb head, but she hated being late (and going back late) to keep giving Caleb head. Caleb really needs to clear this one up and tell us what its about.

Or perhaps he was giving her head since he seems to be upset aut losing the salty leaves.

Does it really? to be honest at the moment it could mean almost anything or perhaps nothing.

It sounds a bit clumsily poetic to be slang and how come its not listed in the hundreds of salt related terms on urban dictionary if its such well established slang.

Yeah its not on urban dictionary. But I know what it means because I listen to quite a bit of Country (my guilty pleasure).

There was a song by The Wreckers (a country duo) that had Salty in the title. They later changed the name of the song to Cigarettes. But "Salty" does mean something in country slang
