I'm a HUGE HUGE KOL fan & I'm constantly trying to decipher the meaning of Caleb's lyrics... For example, I had no idea King of the Rodeo was also about a tranny (which seems like a more common theme in their music than I realized - I figured "Trani" would have covered the subject, but...) until I just saw an old "making of" clip where Jared talks about it. So even though I listen to their music everyday (literally) & know every word to every song - I still don't know the "meaning" of some of th songs...
I know there's got to be more than one of you fans here that has info or links to info regarding the meaning or deciphering of KOL songs...
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ANOTHER FAN !!!

I think, and its only my opinion, don't trust what they say in interviews cos they never seem to take interviews seriously. so take anything (especially said by Jared) with a bucket of salt. I'd say your interpretation, what a song means to you, is far more important than what offical sources say. But then again I'm legendarily stuck at the point of the use of the Verb to Call in Joes head. The ambiguous use of the verb to call could indicate that Joes Fat Freind was contacted by telephone, Joes Fat Friend was called from another part of the building like "Oi Fred come over here" or that the protaganist on descovering Joes fat friend decides to name him Fred.....
And also I'm pretty sure that on call is about Bidets.

Sorry I've confused you even more. A Bidet is the little toilet shaped sink you get in posh hotels for washing yourself after you've used the loo. When you listen to the live version it sounds like Caleb is siging bidet, rather than be there. And strangely on the myspace official version it sounds like the "theres" have been cut and pasted.

oh i'm an idiot! i wasn't thinking anywhere in the realm of toilet & forgot what a bidet was!!!
so you're saying you think "On Call" is about bidets or you think he actually says "bidet(s)" in the lyrics of the song?
