Seriously i know this might seem kinda strange but i was just thinking the way caleb writes songs is kinda the way shakesphere writes plays ..because if you read the lyrics of ASH theres no direct meaning you have to try to figure out what it means cos the wording is so wierd....the same with shakesphere i mean im reading macbeth in school and i have know fucking idea what its about.... :-/does anyone agree

i love it when things can have so many different meanings.. it's almost as if you can interpret the meaning of the lyrics to how it relates to you..
so many kings fans perceive songs in different ways.. like if a certain topic is important to us, we'll somehow find a link or view the lyric from that aspect, and i love it when lyrics like caleb's have that flexibility. am i just totally rambling here?

This doesn't sound weird at all. That is exactly Caleb's intention. It's not like I prodded around in his brain or anything, but he actually said that in the Risen interview. Here, I'll write out the quote for you; Risen Magazine: Do you guys have a message in your music?
Caleb: Anytime we have a message in a song that we want to say, that will be the part of the song that you can't understand. Because it's the one thing that we try to hide the most. It will always be the thing where I where I will have to sit down and explain what I mean. When we did out record, we had our record label people saying, "We can't understand what you're saying," ans then I would have to put the lyrics in front of them. They couldn't understand the way I was saying it. I'll use a word and you might think I'm using it this way, but the spelling is completely different. I want th have hooks and I am not talking about hooks like a pop chorus. I'm talking about something that grabs your attention and makes you think, Did he really just say that? Is he using poor language? It sounds like he's singing through his nose or whatever. I love shit like that.I feel that his lyrics are quite smart. Here are some of my favorite lines; - "blooming flowers waltz before me" - Happy Alone - "It's too late for apologies they're falling at my feet" - Genius - "And the spotlight showed what I chased away" - Milk - "Sweet mutilation of a sold to nothing man/Lord have mercy shake is falling through your hand" - Razz - "And put a twenty dollar trick/I hear you're blowin' like a feather/And then they rub it in your face/Oh once they've had all their fun hun/You're at the bottom of the cage " - Red Morning Light - "I danced around your folk and soul/I danced to all your fucking soul" - Soft - "Behind the fringe of a whiskey high/mutilating cat like eyes/and in your nose blood decadence" - Soft - " Slow night so long, she’s frenching out the flavour/She’s 17 but I done went and plum forgot it" - Slow night so long - "You’re not so nice, but sex sells so cheap" - Slow night so long - "Too young to die but old is the grave" - The Bucket I hope that quote helps ~Lin P.S.- I remember reading MacBeth. If you need help with it don't be afraid to ask me (or look at Coles notes) And Hamlet is one of my favorite Shakespeare plays. In my opinion it is far better then MacBeth. It has more depth, more psychology.

We studied MacBeth at school..
I quite enjoyed it actually.. I got to read a lot of soliloquy's out in class. It made me feel smart.
good play.
ha.. Soft is so about Kate Moss... the 'I left you with your nose bleeding" line.. Surely that's a reference to much coke damaging the inner wall of the nostril and making it bleed or something>

yeah i think thats what the consensus is but there is still debate... yeah i agree about shakespeare, because you can listen to a kol song a hundred times, and the one hundred and first time, you'll hear something that you didnt notice before and be completely confused all over again - that happens to me like every day with kol
