Oh, and sorry to temporarily derail the topic. I love this thread, so I promise I'll post something of substance as soon as I get over this, er, sinus infection-thingy. It blows!

I'm think the line "Lay it now on the ground, throw in a white noise sound, like a tranny on a ten." from Trani is about a transistor radio. I read it on some lyrics site but it kind of makes sense once you think about it. Those old transistor radios when put to full volume or whatever get fuzzy hence the "white noise sound". Apparently trani is short for transistor radio in Australia or something. I don't know what the other lyrics mean.

Ok so in razz the line "shake is falling through his hands" i think refers to Shake, which is just left over bits and pieces from a bag of weed, and jared has been on the record for being one of the bands stoners. Maybe caleb got annoyed with how high he was getting all the time? Lol.

i recently bestowed my love for KOl on my cousin. Anywho, she was wondering if the line "bloomin' flowers waltz before me" was a drug inspired line. She said it sounded like the effects of tripping on some kind of drug. I told her i'd bring it to you lot since we seem to have some Calebian scholars (is that what you call it, buck). any thoughts?

To me he could be literal, being in the country or small town, but Caleb is rarely literal. But I don't get a drug reference.

Well if you think about it literally waltzing gives you the image of bending over. And what happens when flowers bend over? They wilt, or die. A possible metaphor for his life on the road. I think its a genius line.

i thought it seemed literal too, especially because the song is talking travelling. i thought i'd ask, though. that's an intersting way to see it, theseeds. Oh caleb, making us think.

I just think its supposed to give the idea of something happy, because dancing flowers can't really be literal and the concept of dancing flowers is very happy (not necessarily drug inspired)

Lets have a little Wordsworth....
I WANDER'D lonely as a cloud That floats on high o'er vales and hills, When all at once I saw a crowd, A host, of golden daffodils; Beside the lake, beneath the trees, Fluttering and dancing in the breeze. Continuous as the stars that shine And twinkle on the Milky Way, They stretch'd in never-ending line Along the margin of a bay: 10 Ten thousand saw I at a glance, Tossing their heads in sprightly dance. The waves beside them danced; but they Out-did the sparkling waves in glee: A poet could not but be gay, In such a jocund company: I gazed—and gazed—but little thought What wealth the show to me had brought: For oft, when on my couch I lie In vacant or in pensive mood, They flash upon that inward eye Which is the bliss of solitude; And then my heart with pleasure fills, And dances with the daffodils.
