We've had 'the mysterious south' so what are your expectations of the merry old england slash uk??? All fish and chips and tea and scones???

well, when I think of england (I've been there once, in sixth grade, and only to London)...
an awesome accent, high tea, double decker buses, telephone booths, those little cabs (I forget what they're called), fashionable people, unpretentious people with a good sense of a humor, good music, lots of greenery, plays, really great architecture, overcast weather (which I love), fish and chips.......
yeah pretty much every stereotype in the book.

its so funny to hear non english peoples views on england because its nothing like what we english people experience or see everyday.I mean i dont like fish and chips, i have never been to boarding school and i rarely see the classic red telephone box anymore.I also find it funny that we know so little about parts of america as it is one of the most (the most?) well known countries in the world its quite funny our view of it is hillbillys on rocking chairs with banjos, and cheerleaders and jocks (the whole teen movie crap)

lords and ladies...no im just kidding. well my dad lived in london during the early 80's while he tried to be a rock star. all i heard was to get the fish and chips and to stay away from the mexican food (i don't know why, my dad just said he had a bad burrito)

I have no idea what England is like, but I want to visit there so bad. My brother's friend is from England, but he's really boring and never says anything when I ask him about England. Random, but ya.

The young seem to take continuous holidays to other countries and exotic locales, party all the time in pubs and clubs, listen to great music, don't care about how they look (ex. weight issues) like in the US, and are more laid back with lots of friends! FUN FUN!!!

when i think of newcastle i think of black and white strips and alan sherer...or however you spell his name haha you'd be right there. pretty much half of the population in this city live up to the geordie stereotype. I hate football. Which is quite annoying considering I live in one of the most football obsessed cities in the world lol we have drunk football hooligans and orange girls that wear next to nothing even in the winter... but we also have whats becoming one of the nicest cities in the country and great local bands - see the futureheads and maximo park. swings and roundabouts innit x

boarding schools....well behaved young children in uniforms. sorry, but that REALLY made me laugh, thinking about my school.....it couldn't be more different on the topic of orange people, my mum did a course in liverpool (she's a teacher), and she said everyone their looks like they're spent their life on a beach....or look like they're trying to look like that ....haha, this is REALLY random, but my friend's from liverpool, but he doesn't have an accent, but when he's on the phone to his mum, he suddenly has an accent, HAHA.xx
