this may have been mentionned before (probably, as..i am a bit of a retard) or i'm picking up on something that, really, is totally unrelated.. BUTlisten to 'hey joe' Jimi Hendrix THEN 'joe's head' ...is there or is there not an obvious link between these 2 songs?(meaning signing about the same thang) here are some lyrics: first, Jimmi.... Hey Joe, where you goin' with that gun in your hand? Hey Joe, I said where you goin' with that gun in your hand? Alright. I'm goin down to shoot my old lady, you know I caught her messin' 'round with another man. Yeah,! I'm goin' down to shoot my old lady, you know I caught her messin' 'round with another man. Huh! And that ain't too cool. Kings Of Leon.... This is just the way of the world Joe said I had to put a bullet into his head Then lit up a cigarette Decided to call his fat friend Fred Well he said Fred I just killed a man Caught him laying with my girlfriend Now they're both dead, people can be so cold when they're dead watcha think?

I was reading Lester Bangs the other day and there was a segment that jumped out at me about this here topic: he writes: "Man, I used to get up in the morning in '65 and '66 and just love to turn on that radio, there was so much good jive wailin' out. Like there was this song called "Hey Joe" that literally everybody and his fuckin' brother not only recorded but claimed to have written even though it was obviously the psychedelic mutation of some hoary old folk song; which was about murderin' somebody for love... And a group called the Leaves had a killer hit with "Hey Joe"....." as lolita would say: " They know thier shit"

I never really thought about it, I guess they are based off the same thing. Very smart, I didn't pick up on that.

Yearp. Thought about this last week. But, somehow it just seems right and not at all plagiarized. Same with Molly's Chambers.

What is Molly's Chambers based on? I was always under the impression that like 'Hey Joe', 'Whiskey In a Jar' (Thin Lizzy's interpretation) may have inspired 'Molly's Chambers.'
