Is it just me or is Listening to Dusty (album version) very loud on headphones like being hit over the head repeatedly with a tin tray in a good way?

ooh, this is wonderful! The music makes me want to kick someones ass, hugging people, dance, make love, play guitar, bass, drums, and to sing! Also, i connect (not like connect-connect - do you understand this?) with the lyrics you can feel used, pissed, annoyed, happy, confused and so on, and you'll listen to a song and realize that you're not the only one! ... some of this does not make sense, but i don't really care... i love the awesome fucking bass-lines! They are ALMOST level Violent Femmes, which is total rockdom!

YAYM always lifts my mood when I feel shitty and ASH is a little darker so I save it for those days when I want to dwell in it.

well i dont want to start arguing or anything but i really didnt appreciate Jack when u said that crying was bit too much, i think that if peole want to cry to some songs why not, thats how they make them feel, i always want to cry when i listent to the begginig of the original California Waiting, i mean the way that Matt starts of the song w/ the guitar, its just so beautiful, and i just get so sad when i hear, i dont know why, but i do also Milk, it doesnt make me want to cry or anything but it gets me sad i dont know why either, but i love that song, i think its Caleb's voice in that one that makes me sad. i love that song cause its just so simple but so beautiful i mean all i can hear is just his voice and the acoustin guitar, thts all it needs to me. but songs like RML, Mollys chambers, Holy Roller, King of the Rodeo, taper, 4 kicks makes me want to dance, jump around, sing along at the top of my longs, w/out giving a fuck of how stupid i look!! i love their music it has everything for me!! oh and britchick about what u said about how u love both albums in different ways cause theyre both different, complete agree w/ u cause it hink that Y&YM is more guitar more simple rock, like u said, but in ASH it is defiantely more bass, i mean i ve said this before but to me its soo true, Jared just sounds fucking AMAZING in ASH!!! he just sounds soooo good!!!

I agree AHA is jared's time to shine. His bass is awesome throughout the album. YAYM I adore as well for its more southern sounding and more 70's. I sometimes wish that all of the lads would go back to that 70's look. I was so floored when I saw them that way a couple years ago. It was incredible. Wicker Chair will always hold a special place with me cause that was the first Kings song i heard and I was instantly hooked. I agree there is room to improve like having a little more depth to the songs but they are great for driving in the car with and jamming

Wow I would love for Wicker Chair to be the first Kings song I heard. The original version of California Waiting is also amazing & another one I would like to have heard them first with (did that sentence even make sense?).

I love the raw emotions in Milk. That song I must say got me attracted to the album. I heard the Bucket and really enjoyed it, but then on a site I heard a clip of Milk and had to get more info on the album. Then of course I bought it. I don't buy albums often, but when I do, it has to be because I throughly enjoy the band/artist and their music and want to support them.

Howdy - I'm new. I've been reading the forum for a while and thought I should join and share some of my views with the rest of you nice people. My favourite parts of KoL songs at the moment are: 1 - On Genius when the bass comes in on the second verse. When Caleb and Matthew move to Bb and A and Jared stays on G it sounds so cool (apologies to non musical people but you'll understand if you listen - the bass stays on the same note while the guitars change chord. Sorry if that sounds patronising - it isn't meant to). 2 - On Four Kicks halfway through the solo when Matthew starts bending the fuck out of his strings, Nathan pounds away on the crash cymbal and Caleb lets out a little yelp. It makes the hairs on my neck stand on end before I start jumping round uncontrollably.
Anyway, thats just two little bits out of so many great songs. This is my top 10 Kings songs at the minute (it will probably have changed by next week - except the top 5 which will take a hell of a good song to break into there)
10. Four Kicks 9. Razz 8. Milk 7. Trani 6. Soft 5. Spiral Staircase 4. Genius 3. Wicker Chair 2. California Waiting 1. Wasted Time
Anyway, sorry for rambling a load of bollocks. I'm a little bit drunk and have been listening to Kings for a couple of hours. Thanks if you bothered to read it. I won't bother you again

okay as for me and the LeOn their music is
i requested 'any kings of leon song' at my local rock club the other night and they chose the ep version of cali ... that summed up the state of things with me and their music at the mo moo yep!

basically i friggin' love them! everything about their music is just so great. i also love how they can make such a sad song (the bucket) sound so happy! (or at least up beat enough to dance to) and as for jared aka bass face .....i have you to thank for inspiring me to get myself a bass! and yes, hot rod jared, my fingers hurt so bad - all down to playing those kol songs....

what I love about kol
their sound is just so raw. and even while they have these brilliant, moving lyrics about real topics that everyone can connect to, they never forget to create this amazing, magnetic sound that draws you in, something that any good rock song does. someone suggested earlier, I believe it was Jack the Biscuit, that kol do some kind of epic. Personally, I think their appreciation and knowledge of the importance of the two or three minute rock song is part of what is so admirable about them. While they definitely took some risks with aha, they're not all pretentious and caught up in the weird experimental crap that so many bands are, with the whole indie trend going on. I'm a big fan of the southern rock feel of yaym, and when I first heard aha I was a little nervous about the change...but I realized that even thought it's a style change, those same elements of brilliance are consistently present in all of their songs, no matter what genre.

i LOVE slow night so longggggggggggggggg the repeated crescendo and the mellow bits it's AMAZING!!!! plus the totally pissed off style drumming with the angsty lyrics of i hate your face like ouch! it's in contrast with itself or however you say the music's all powerful and moving and gut wrenching whilst the lyrics are all full of what seems like these modest simple understated sentences. yeah!
you can read that if you like

I can see where people cry when they hear Milk, Wicker, Calif. Waitin. It probably just takes them back to some memory that makes them happy and sad at the same time. Thats what KOL is about, especially ASH. Thats a weird top 10 Occillatin. I always thought Razz was their weakest song, if thats possible, and Soft is funny but I don't know about top 10.. Here's mine for those who care... 10. Day Old Blues 9. Wasted Time 8. Taper Jean Girl 7. Four Kicks 6. Joe's Head 5. Milk 4. The Bucket 3. Trani 2. California Waiting (EP ver.) 1. Velvet Snow
