ohhh my, so i went to see kings there! when we got there first i was really worried because just was and everybody was on about U2 and i was like 'what if they arenty playing' but then later we were queuing (we were about the third lot of people in the non priority queue) and nacho walked by us and in through the door. we (three of us) just stopped, and our legs were like jelly and we couldnt say anything lol, just totally schocked that he walked by us. anyway, after about 4 and a half hours we were all allowed in, as there had been technical difficulties (apparently the problem was that U2 hadnt come but it might have been a rumour). then we had to wait about another hour or so inside the building but at least it was warm, as it was freeezing outside. then we were finally let into the studio and by this time we were quite near the front, and we were all lead into the studio by this one small door, being told not to push. then we were sent to stand in front of the U2 stage, and we were quite near the front there but we saw the kings stage set up behind us, and we freaked out again! so then we hung back, and made sure that we were right at the front of the kings of leon stage. there was no barrier, it was just a line on the floor, and we were like ohh my god this is so weird! and so we stood there right at the front in the middle, and we had to be told all this stuff by some guy on the stage. we had to practise our applause and our bouncing up and down and stuff. he said we couldnt be like 'a 35 year old man at a gig' so we were like ohhh ok. it was soo odd! anyway, so we all had to practise this applausing and they played a bit of the bucket so we could practise the sreaming, and i was screaming anyway just because it was the bucket and we were sooo excited (we also knew that they werent going to play just one song by now, as when we went to hand in our phones we saw the list saying what was happening). so then after he was like 'that was great' and by now we could see the kings at the side of this stage, and nobody was hassling them or anything, as nobody was there for them! so then he was like 'give it up for kings of leeeeoonn' and they walked on stage. and oh my god, they have never been that close to me while playing, not even at birmingham academy 2! (apparently there were only 320 of us in there) they all looked so good, and caleb looked amazing, and also really thin! i couldnt believe how thin his legs were, i really dont remember then being that thin! but he looked great, they all did! then caleb turned around with his guitar and just did an 'eiggghteeen' without the mic and it sounded brilliant! then they played the bucket, and it was absolutely BRILLIANT. everything about it was great, jared's vocals were brilliant, and it was just perfect. then, they turned around, and the intro to 4 kicks came on. me and my friends screamed SO loud, i really really was not expecting them to play that and i was ECSTATIC! it was really fast, sounded faster than from bonnaroo and we were actually going mental. everything from 4 kicks was amazing, they got really into it, caleb was prouncing everything sooo brilliantly, and he did like the pointing down near the microphone thing, it was mind blowing brilliant, i so cannot explain myself well enough! then it ended, and we screamed so much, and i was sooo hot, even though itd just been two songs! then it ended, we clapped etc, stil being mental, and they walked off stage. i was ecstatic because i hadnt been expecting that at all, it was amazing, and just everything about it. then the guy told us all to turn around and stuff for U2 so we did but turned around and watched nacho sort everything out. and nobody was bothering with him, which is so weird because people always watch nacho! and he was right near us and so we wanted to say something but we didnt know what to say. so...i just went up to nacho and told him to tell them thanks for us because we'd just gone for them, and he was so sweet and said he would definitely tell them and then we let him get on with it. but for U2, who were brilliant, kings were at the side of their stage again watching, and when nacho went up to caleb, they high fived which was fun to watch lol. then U2 performed, they did four songs, but had to repeat one so we got five performances. it felt so strange seeing Bono so up close because we were unbelieveably close, even though we were at the back, as he's like MEGA mega famous! so then at the end, kings walked out, and so we went out quite fast, and they were just there. i so did not know what to say so i just said hi to caleb, and he smiled and went on. then as i was walking out i realised jared was behind me a bit, and i was walking next to nathan! i was soo nervous and i was just abotu to ask him if 4 kicks was the next single but these big men with him told him to go some other way so i didnt. but i dont regret it because the night was brilliant!
sorry this is a bit long, but it was SO so so excellent!
