has anyone found out an official meaning for the title? i assumed it was short for a hand shake heartbreak... i would like to think that it would be something along those lines rather than have something to do with the band a-ha or something like that.

ohhhhhhh but wouldn't it be great if it was a tribute to the eighties band a -ha?!! oh it would cos it would just totally mean that they were still abstract and weird, and could do anything they wanted to do including very uncool things such as what i just mentioned *wide eyed and nodding* hahaa
but to be serious the title confuses me, cause it don't sound biblical like it came from a tree, and i'm disapointed by that. so i have no idea what the meaning behind it is, apart from that they've had there hearts broken, but i don't know cos what's the a-ha for? and what's a short for a hand shake heartbreak? i assumed it was american slang for something and left at that until i had a chance to hear the album and properly figure it out. in other words haha i have no idea!

when you are out with someone you like and at the end of the night you get a handshake instead of a goodnight kiss....therefore it's a-ha shake heartbreak that's prolly not it- but that's what i like to believe

ohhhhhhhhhhh yeah that would make sense! so it's a-ha(nd) shake heartbreak. when you put it like that it's like some kinda riddle. i really can't see them having hand shaking heartbreaking moments though. well not enough to name an album after it. maybe some but not enough to name a title after it. but i like the riddle so i think i'll believe that too.

yeah, i don't really see that happening to them often either, but i thought it would make a good title and something people could relate to....

that you are a heart breaker, of course just meant it was something real people could maybe relate to...everyone can relate to heartbreak anyways...

i'm sorry, i saw this earlier and i'm still laughing at you calling me a heartbreaker hahahaaa i could blow my trumpet or just say no, really, i'm not. you must have me confused with my evil bitch of a twin haha
but about the title; i agree with you about everyone being able to relate to heartbreak/ache but that’s life. That’s why it’s a great title, cause like you say it’s something real people can relate to and despite it not being plucked from a tree it’s so uhm what’s the word, well it’s just reality isn’t it, what they do best. that’s why they’re great and I love them cause there’s no frills, or fancy pretentious crap with them. They’re a people band and that’s really comforting.
& your name's witty btw!

The title refers to Alan Partridge as all of KOL are massive Alan Partridge fans and they were heartbroken when the show came to an end.
