For some weird reason, I couldn't log on in :-(, so I'm just dropping a quick post about a new NME article I saw online at their website about their appearance at the V Festival. Here's a cut n paste of the article and PEACE!!:
KINGS OF V FESTIVAL
KINGS OF LEON closed the first day of the CHELMSFORD V FESTIVAL on the NME STAGE with a storming set (August 21).
The band treated fans to a performance which drew from their debut album ’Youth And Young Manhood’ and their forthcoming follow-up ’A-Ha Shake Heartbreak’.
Speaking to NME.COM, singer Caleb Followill said: “We’re not used to headlining anything really! So it’s pretty strange to be here, but this one’s nice: it’s not so dirty as the others and there are prettier girls out there. Plus the crowd are really getting into everything. We’ll look forward to playing them the new songs, because they’re really good for clapping along to. We’re really thrilled with the stuff from the new LP so we’ll look forward to airing that.”<br>
Tracks included opener ’Molly’s Chambers’, ’Red Morning Light’, ’Wasted Time’, ’Holy Roller Novacaine’, ’California Waiting’ and closer ’Trani’.
Speaking about the other bands on the bill Caleb added: “Of course we’re really looking forward to Dido! You know, it’s a shame we were booked on this day because we’re bummed we’re missing the Pixies and The Strokes, it’d be nice to catch them.”<br>
The Followill clan also gave the crowd a taste of the new album with ’Taper Jean Girl’, forthcoming single ’The Bucket’, ’4 Kicks’, ’Soft’, and ’Milk’.
Tomorrow’s bill at Chelmsford includes Pixies, Scissor Sisters, Primal Scream and V Stage headliners The Strokes.
