So the fickle 18year old Jared who learnt basic bass in 2 months (and is still learning basic bass, might I add) has thrown the cat among the pigeons and has called English girls "rough".I'm sure. Fame has taken it's toll. Manufactured bands never seem to appreciate that true musicians burst their bollocks and DONT slag of the fans who pay their GOD DAMN WAGES. what a testicle. Big Mistake!!! Tch tch tch. There is gonna be fun at V festival, concidering a lot of us paid just to see the Kings.

hey man! Jared may be a so and so to most of us right now, but the band are fucking brilliant and you will not regret having bought a V (sorry babe) festival ticket just to catch them play. They are a great great band. Don't tarnish the whole band with the same brush, not without reason.

But, I do think this brings up an interesting issue: do personal politics make a difference in the enjoyment of an artist? If I knew that some band I was really into were racist, I would stop listening to them. If I thought they were Republicans, I would hate them. I would always be looking for subtle references in their work to their particular politic. I've really been struggling with this whole Jared not Liking English Women and making an ass of himself thing because it makes me think that he's lacking a certain respect for women. Not just English Women, but women in general, and thats a dangerously stupid way to be. As far as 'tarnishing the whole band with the same brush" goes, its hard not to imagine that they all feel the same way. I mean, they are a family, they hang out together 24 hours a day, and Jared being the youngest is probably just restating what he's heard a million times already... Yeah, they are an excellent group of musicians and I love their music, but I don't know how I feel anymore about supporting a bunch of horny young guys who have no respect for their fanbase or women in general. Being a women, I have to wonder where my responsibility comes into play. I don't listen to rap for the same reason, although I love it. I hate the degrading way in which most male rap artists refer to women and in many ways, they way women respond. Its political for me. Where is the line?

anyways... i'd say, despite their attempts to rid themselves of their sometimes disturbing 'southern' views, they do have a sad, a very fucking sad state of opinion when it comes to women. you're post about their father thinking you were a groupie simply because you drove such a long way to meet them, upset me. it seems as though, any female fan who wants to meet the band automatically gets labelled with the tag of being a groupie or a wannabe groupie for that matter. Is that because the band doesnt' value women enough to respect their pure honest love for MUSIC?! no, i think it is because they have become jaded by the road and have unfortunately begun to become cynical when it comes to the women that they meet. so why, when all you meet mostly are, fake women who don't have enough respect for themselves to realise how their actions are close to being compared to 'whoring themselves out' and if they do don't exactly care 'because they're a rock starrrrr' would you think twice about what you say when it comes to that issue.
i am in no way supporting jareds opinions if he was around me right now i'd slap him around with a slipper for being such a cock. but my point is, when women themselves are acting in such a degrading fashion why the hell should men (let alone anyway) respect them? the band seem therefore to have lost touch with 'real' women to have lost touch with what the sense of a 'true' person is and for that, i feel deeply sorry for them as they never have and seemed to have promoted themselves (in the early days at least) upon the suggestion that they are 'true' people themselves with more than a grasp on reality and what the nitty gritty of life was all about. maybe jared was too young to appreciate the rough days. but everyone grows up.
when you speak of this 'knowledge being passed on' firstly guys are guys and always will be. guys never respect girls when they're younger, once they get dumped enough times they begin to realise that 'no, we don't like being treated that way', around the age of older than jared. i guess, they've always been on the road and i guess in one way or another they've never really that often come across the kind of women who are real and give reason for why the opposite sex should respect them, but then again maybe i'm just blind.

Fair point, and its hardly publicity... but: How can we be sure Jared actually said that? It could just be a 2-bit internet journalist has a chip on his shoulder for some reason. These things are easy to 'report', and can do a lot of damage if taken as gospel. Just a thought

So you gonna Sue or are you admiting it. Personally I worry about the fact that the onlly source we've got is a mildly racisist Irish Tabliod.

Intresting the bits of my posts you choose to answer, Glastonbury is an international festival drawing people from all over, not just English people. The tone of refering to it as an "English" festival is inately racisist. Its a British festival full of British people .

as to why the tabloid may be racist, perhaps read between the lines. things are never as they appear. sometimes what's not said is actually what is. look at the source. why are they the ones to have taken the story and run with it. ask yourself is it really that newsworthy? therein lies the answer.

If it's in "quotes " he said it, if he didn't he can sue! Im sorry, but thats utter bollocks. The success of tabloid journalism is built on the very ease of inventing stories and quotes and just about anything else that takes their fancy. Anyone can invent anything, and the sheer proliference of such nonsense is one of the reasons why most victims dont bother to sue. The scary thing is that some people will believe just about everything they read.

Discussion= talking about a subject. If we all had the same opinion, how boring would that be? yes discussion is good but this is a rather ridiculous topic. easy to say: I still wouldn't take such a thing to heart. if he was a mate of mine and attacked me on a personal basis then i'd feel somewhat stink.
