i went to the hordern show, it was pretty amazing. one of the best gigs i've been too!!
they kings were fantatsic, and they played equally well at the BDO. Caleb didnt really talk alot, but they seemed to be having fun and the crowd loved them. they played really well, really tight. during the strokes, the kings were watching form the side. afterwards we were walking past the back and the strokes came out and signed stuff and talked to the fans. jules was really funny and very wasted.. and gave me a kiss!! im so embrassd to be sayin that though.. im really not a groupie!! i promise!!
only jared came over from the kings, and only because these girls were screamming his name over and over, he was really shy though but nice. i didnt even try to speak to jared... im so stupid!! i was just kinda dumbstruck...
the strokes were so much better at the hordern than the BDO, i dunno, maybe cause the crowd wasnt throwing shit at them!! jules came into the crowd a couple of times, and was pretty funny in between songs.

the girls that were talking to jared, freaked the poor fella out i think. they were asking him if he'd kiss them, his room number, what he was doing the next day... i mean, i was thinking that, but id never ask him! lol
he seemed kinda shy, would only let them kiss him on his check... poor fella!

i had to have a chuckle over the 'hows my hair' line... too funny.
the meticalla fans were stupid, well to be fair, i guess there are nice ones out there, but the majority were idoits. and meticalla's set was way too long!

ya it was toooo long. made me go all zzzZZZZZzzzz. my little eyes were closing fast. i left b4 they finished. sorry tallica but u just don't do it for me. actually i was more entertained by a little bit of ye olde barney that was happening in front o f me during their set. it was beautiful. nice to see that festivals still being out the best in people. fisty cuffs r always a joyous event  |

i'm totally late to put any valid input in the topic...but i'm bored.....
mm this gig was probably the best out of that week....both in terms of quality, and quantity of alcohol consumed....i was officially munted.......
didn't see any of them out afterwards as i was too busy harassing the mars volta via a taxi on george st....did see matthew at judgos of all places on the saturday night after the big day out....complete with a TRIBE of girlies hanging off him. was one of the funniest things i've ever seen - one on his lap, one stroking his knee and four others squashed in on the couch next to him wishing they were the other two....funnnnnn-e.

Oooh my first post on this board, the novelty!. I saw KOL and Strokes at the Hordern Sydney gig... both bands were brilliant, but the KOL were just that smidgin better... then again I'm biased. Matthew was at Judgos with a harem (I suspect one of my friends posted about that before). I was tired and went home, so I was unable to see it and laugh there and then. But yes erm, hello people of this board!. Also- the person called Flossie... that's my nickname! I was going to use it as my username, only to find it was taken already...how bizarre!. I know of no other Flossie's you see. Long live KOL!. Erm, what an odd first post.  |

Hey Fleur, I'm not the only new one around here! I went to the Hordern gig and it was awesome. I think KOL were better than The Strokes. I was there with 3 Strokes fans and one other KOL fan which made it an interesting night but I had a great time! It was so hot in there, we were all drenched with sweat once we got out of there although when we did, we saw The Dandy Warhols and wandered over for a chat and photos with Courtney Taylor-Taylor which was pretty cool. I think both bands were better at the Hordern. KOL talked more on stage at BDO than at the side show and it was the other way around for The Strokes, Jules would stop to talk between just about every song. They both seemed more relaxed at the sideshow too, Caleb even shook his arse for us |
