raaah. i'm sooo glad someone posted about this. i apologise for the language in advance. i'm so sick of ignorant, pathetic fuckers writing shit like that about them. half of it isn't about the music, it's just like 'ooooh they look like hippies, lets slag them off' one guy was on about how every song sounds the same and i bet he hasn't even heard the fucking album. apparantly they all have the same 'greenday' [yes, he compared them to GREENDAY!?] 4/4 drum beat which is a load of shit and if that person knew anything about music or had bothered to actually LISTEN rather than just plain judge then i might respect their opinion this >< much. And as for this weeks letter, why the fuck would they have their names on the writing credits if they didn't write any of the songs, it's not like it just says lyrics and music by angelo is it? I've been considering writing to them too but i dont see the point, they're not going to print something that is rational and factually correct, they love to bitch and be generally nasty to a band that they initially supported to much. Don't think NME will be getting anymore interviews if the band see it.

i still think you should write in, just give it a bit of an edge, and quote that thing jared said about angelo in your interview.

exactly. if i dont like a band i just dont listen to them. people must be very sad to expend so much energy slagging off things they dont even know anything about. its so ignorant. i just think NME as a whole is very negative for a magazine that is supposedly for FANS of music, not jaded critics, its slowly becoming the tabloid of the music press. i'd much rather pay an extra few quid for mojo or Q, at least they seem to have some sort of integrity and are a lot more positive about music in general.

NME is ok, it pisses me off when they start talkin about bands i like. I mean, like I respect Courtney Love, to be honest I dnt care wat anyone says about that woman she deserves fuckin respect anyway my point is the amount of shit she gets by the press u know shes almost become like a caricature of herself like a cartoon (well she has anyone read that manga thingy she's doing?!) or something and u know that hurts to see it sumtimes when shes slagged off but whenevr she brings out something new they r always there pantin jumpin up and dwn going 'let me interview u, let me interview u, pleaseee' i dunno i know they hav like a million different journalists (well not quite that many but) but i wish they cld get there journalists to rest a lil more in sync with one another u know so its not soo contradictory. they work as a magazine they shld put there points across as a magazine. Not jst slag ppl off when they feel its fun and then pretend nothing ever happened when they want there interviews ...
...theres a point in there sumwhere!
- ooo i can smell America! -strange!

ug. NME board regulars are lame. it's really never about the music, so i'm not even offended as a KOL fan. they'll bash pretty much anything remotely popular and praise really underground indie stuff, crappy or not. i remember someone there once posting something about Panic at The Disco being really good until they sold out and i just sat there for like, half an hour confused out of my mind considering that panic at the disco has only one album. it's lame really. edit/ i think it should be noted that i haven't visited the NME boards or read the mail in what...2 years now? so my view is from my prior experience regarding the magazine's vocal readers.

People are annoying. They say shit & have nothing to back it up.
I mean I know that not all people like the bands I like...I got that...but when people are downright annoying about it & just run their mouths for no rhyme or reason you (maybe not you but definitely me) always want to go toe to toe with 'em.

I haven't seen anyone complainign about the Kings in the letter's pages recently but people still continue to write into that thing and complain about other bands .. you're entitled to not like a band but I mean, who can really be arsed to a write a letter of complaint? Can't you just suffer in silence. It's like when people go on YouTube and post negative comments about band's videos .. why would you do that?!

NME pisses me off in general - not only tend to give certain bands ridiculously good reviews simply because they 'discovered' them, but they also print complete bullshit. The had a front page story that Noel Gallagher was releasing a solo album (Noel said it to piss Liam of, as he explained on Soccer AM, and NME took it as an oath - despite the fact Noel has been saying it once a month for the last six years) - and that front page picture of the girl from The Gossip nearly made me throw up.
I'll stick with Q magazine thank you very much
