closer on bass

im new and i couldnt find where this thread should go but i was wondering the right way to play closer on bass ive got a midi keyboard at the moment and ive hooked it up through garageband and amplitube which has a virtual recreation of the digitech whammy pedal that i assume jared uses on closer. ive searched through youtube and keep getting different frets like some guy will play it on the 1st string 19th fret and some guy will play it on the second string 22nd fret. if anyone has mastered it or have watched videos of them playong the song so much that they can virtually tell every time that jared looks at himself in the mirror on his cabinets and know what chords hes plaing would they be able to tell me what fret hes playing

the notes he's playing are B - D - C# - B - you can do it high up in the A string or in fret 9 in the D string! Each note is repetead 8 times: 5 normal, 3 with the whammy an octave higher. Hope it helps.
